Did we ever figure out exactly why Nagato didn't just resurrect Yahiko if there's no "within a certain time-limit" to rinne tensei? If it's indeed one of those "die when you use it" type jutsus, why no resurrection for him along with the rest of Konoha when he used it? Hell why not Jiraiya too?

"Yo bro, brought you back but i gotta die now, so take care of Konan for us." Not a far-fetched logic for someone about to die, who has a dead child-hood friend along with a dead sensei he can resurrect, to take care of their child-hood friend who's still alive.

There's probably a time limit to normal rinne tensei. You probably need a roundabout method to make it last longer and Pain was still working on the regular method as it was. My guess is that Madara can be brought back since his soul is there from edo tensei and rinne tensei on the other hand required the original soul to be nearby.

It probably just has to do with where the soul is. If it's already moved on then you can't bring them back, but if it's still in limbo (like kakashi was) then you can bring it back.

That's what it looks like. Minato stopped him from reviving Madara, but he was aiming to be the Jinchuriki of the 10-tails the entire time.

Shit is going to go down next chapter. Minato is gonna reveal to Naruto that Obito killed him and his mother, Sasuke is gonna learn that he's not the only one who had his parents murdered and thus bitchslapped for being a little bitch for the last 637 chapters of the manga. Cannot wait!
