I agree, just when you think it's about to be over for Obito and his shitty motivations, hes back with a super powerup and no end in sight

Obito is such a fucking shitty character.
Mangas really need to invest in full color. The sort of detail Kishi provides does not fucking display well without color or something to break it up better.
Even with the crappy scan quality, it's not hard to follow the art. Not much guess work needed for anything at least for me. I'm more amazed the artwork was brought up versus Obito's shitty character development.
Really? This is just horrible:

Its a kids book, ya'll dudes just lack imagination or two lines of coke.
Sure, Kishi blows at depicting teleportation. Still the whole Obito deal is worse than some "wasted" panels.
Why can't I hate both?
So Obito reaches perfect form, Minato gets surprise payback'd for his Flying Raijin lvl2 waaaaaay back when he first fought Obito, Juubi control comes with a nifty staff mod.
So next chapter Madara will invalidate this farce with his troll no jutsu.
i hope he and hashirama beat each other to death so we can be done with it
I get Kishi wants to draw parallels but so long as Madara is chillin as if nothing important is happening it's really hard to take Godmode Obito seriously. It's like the manga is building up to a "lol nope" moment where Madara possesses Obito's body to become the sage himself.
It wouldn't even be so bad if we had some real fighting with real deaths and losses between forms, but we don't. It's literally one to two chapters (not even a full eps worth of content) of nothing happening, followed by a power up. What's the point?
I know part of this is simply the scan issue, but my issue with the art is it's pretty much black or white. And while I don't expect many here to be deeply familiar with art techniques, there's basically a few methods to convey depth when not introducing color. The first is thickness and curvature of a line. The second is a shading technique called cross-hatching, which you could crudely describe as weaving pencil strokes in an X-pattern with more strokes going where you'd like it darker (Kubo kind of does it in my sig pic at their necks, but it seems more like repeated horizontal lines than cross-hatching). This seems pretty much absent from Kishi's work, which is what makes some of these action shots so annoying to perceive since they seem more 2D even with the first method in mind. In turn, stuff tends to either be black or white (though I'm willing to blame some of this on the scanning process). Third point, of course, is point perspective. This probably isn't so easy to explain, but it basically controls how you should scale objects relative to a certain point or set of points on the page, and this arguably more for layering multiple objects into an image.
The sentiment that a lot of this just seems like a storyboard for the anime (where it's the animators' job to connect the dots between panels) almost seems spot on. Honestly, I don't think those of us displeased with some of this are asking for Berserk or Claymore-tier work, but I almost feel like he's getting off easy with this mediocre quality stuff. The occasional Uchiha rape/troll face doesn't make up for that, either.
At this point (everybody hooked on the manga), of course he's getting off easy. Kubo even took it about 5 steps further, though Bleach is overall better art, he reuses dat panel and the art of background is lost on him.
I much rather there being no background unless the background is important than this artwork. A lot of the time in Naruto you have no idea what's going on unless you take 15 min to read the chapter in order to try and figure out wtf is going on. Especially when there's 15 pages of clutter and maybe 3 pages of one-liners.
At least in Bleach you know what's going on from looking at the frame for a second, as opposed to some frames in Naruto that's like frikkin' playing Finding Waldo to figure out what's going on.
It's not really ~that~ hard to follow the action, is it? Why are people having that hard of a time? =/
Also, speaking about backgrounds, not everyone can be like GOda
Spoiler: show
You get the idea
