I'd say maybe that Orochimaru was just a clone made by Sasuke if it weren't for the whole thing with Orochimaru talking in Sasuke's mind.

Would make a good distraction anyway, to have Susano/Itachi worry about Orochimaru while Sasuke sneak rapes.

i remember there was an interview with Masashi Kishimoto a couple months ago, during which he said 2008 will be the year of sasuke.. if i am not reading too much into it, it seems that sasuke's ganna get out from this dilemma somehow. so much so that, there might be more of a chance for sasuke to get itachi's eyes than the other way around, given that sasuke won't be too spiteful to do what itachi's wanting all along.

The "Year" of sasuke makes me think sasuke is going to lose one or both eyes and have to go on a long adventure or training thing to try and work towards a new more difficult goal than hes ever had to deal with before. A manga focus on him I would think something dramatic and tragic needs to happen to him so he can have things revolve more around new goals and such for him. Where it's always been about naruto's, except the interview said naruto was taking a back seat.
