Was watching a "top ten manga sales of 2013 so far" and Naruto is only 6th, Bleach not on the list. Pretty sure both authors know they need to wrap it up and their stories are finishing up. I mean 6th in Japan isn't bad by any means, but it's weaker than it usually has been, so time to tie things together and move on.

Just for fun, going from 8/7/09, we've had 183 chapters. So... 4 * 52 = 208 weeks. 208 - 183 = 20 weeks without chapters, so 5 months. Perhaps a bit skewed here and there with double issues, so 6 months wasn't too far off.

lol, now check for one piece and bleach. Those 2 get sick every other month and miss 2-3 chapters at a time.

I can totally see it. I cannot speak for the JP folks but I hear Hunter x Hunter is pretty top in Japan. While I enjoy both very much, Hunter gets the nod over Naruto for me.
