He did the same to naruto and the mangecrow. He didn't auto teach the ability, he used a technique to trigger an existing ability of the eye. One to trigger at Obito's eye, and the other to trigger at the sight of his own eye.

Cause only itachi has been shown to do it, so it's probably Uchiha onry.
