So Sasuke uses Juugo's body to give his sasonoo the cursed seal and the Second calls him a genius? Wouldn't it be Juugo doing all the work? and only after Orochimaru put all the time and effort into research?
Mother fucker keeps getting credit for getting handed all these power ups.

And maybe I didn't really understand, but the cursed seal is apparently giving people sage powers now?

Not sage powers, the cursed seal is based on senjutsu/nature chakra itself. Can't specifically remember when but this was stated a looooong time ago.

I think it was stated during the Kabuto fight with Itachi? Idk for sure.

Really? and here I was thinking Kishi pulled that one out of the hat (wouldnt really matter, if it was never stated what it was anyway, just super convenient lol)

feels really extremely convenient, but even if it wasn't mentioned suring the Kabuto fight, (which I don't remember if it was or wasn't), if I wanted to reach, I could make myself believe it's been foreshadowed well enough.
Huugo's always been all buddy-buddy with nature, and if the cursed seals force a Sage transformation on the user, then that could even sort of explain how the Sound Four/ Sasuke transformed into inhuman creatures.

It was heavily implied during the fight with Kabuto that Orochi was working on sage techniques. This isn't left field, just terribly convenient.

I know Kishimoto gave some visual clues.

Shortly after Jugo was introduced, I recall some scenes where he's either communing with birds or sitting idly while animals sort of congregate around him.

But unable to use Sage Mode properly, Orochimaru instead devised the cursed seals by combining his Senjutsu chakra into the mutative enzymes he isolated from Jūgo's blood. As time passed, Kimimaro died, and Jūgo shut himself away once more.

Wasn't it outright stated that it's nature chakra back at th start of when we met Juugo? I'm actually surprised/confused that people didn't realize this is how the seals are able to affect obito.

If I recall, that was before Naruto's senjutsu training, when nature chakra was given a really in-depth explanation.

When it was introduced with Jugo, it was still kind of an interesting curio about which we had no understanding of it's capacity.

Like seriously. Why you gotta diss Madara like that?
And orochimaru where is this supass Madara crap coming from? You didn't have any other uuchiha to experiment on so it's not like the compatibility is something that you as a scientist should be remotely inferring as unique when you've not tested the rest of the clan or even had a control.

Orochimaru has been praised for mastering Edo Tensei to such a degree that all four Hokage are present at the endgame. Badass normal of the highest degree, he is.

Sauce merely got a plot convenient power up because sitting back watching Naruto do all the work while dodging some rocks and sharply worded language gets boring quick. Wouldn't want Sasuke to end up this mangas Vegeta when we're due for a final battle between the forces of kyuubi and the forces of eyehax. Gotta keep some semblance of the fight being able to go either way ya know.

Well, consider how many Uchiha never unlock mangekyou, then him doing it at such a young age. While it's probably likely he and Itachi were on par, we did get BS'd out of Itachi's true potential by manga AIDS or whatever.

I think the only thing more certain than convenient power-ups is the crying that ensues whenever sauce gets screen time/attention.
