Considering Madara is the root cause of everything that's happened in the manga, you can't be surprised that his fight is gonna be LOOOOOONG as fuck. Adding in his constant trolling, lack of effort, infinite chakra, being immortal, and undoubtedly having a plethora of trump cards up his sleeve, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this up coming fight takes 20~25 chapters. If not more, lol.

I mean, camaan, you know the Inifinite Tsukuyomi is gonna happen anyway. He'll undoubtedly have some method of activating it and resolving that alone will take like 10+ chapters

He did get a massive power-up. He got part of Hashirama combined into him and gained a huge chunk, if not all, of the 1sts abilities. Not to forget, he also now has the Rinnegan. Neither of these power-ups were there for him in all their encounters while the two were alive.

Dude has access to every power short of sage of 6 paths at this point, an immortal body (Naruto cannot yet replicate the ability to permanently damage immortal bodies), infinite chakra, and will surely plot no jutsu his way into stealing the powers that Obito just possessed. The only things holding him back right now are his own fragile emotional state (goes nuts when Hashirama is around due to uchiha being fucking batty) and his susceptibility to the final Naruto conversion due to him being just about the last villain around who hasn't come around to the mindset that trusting others and loving one another is the groovy way to live.

Its coming, though. Mark my shounen words.

The seeds were already planted in the Madara/Hashirama flashbacks for the inevitable conversion / affirmation of Naruto's plan for the Ninja world.
