I imagine Senjutsu and the "nature" element can avoid being absorbed by ppl in control of the Sage Powers because Senjutsu originated from nature and not the Sage of 6 Paths.

On the same type of Avatar Energy Bending shit that superseded Ninjutsu, the 8 Gates could be similar in that regard, which is why someone with no Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Talent (Lee) can be proficient at it and why it can potentially be damaging to Madara.

I see what you're saying, but I think it's much more simple than that. Nobody is resistant to a solid punch to the fucking nose. If you intensify how hard that punch is, you intensify the damage done. Common sense, yes. Madara seems nearly impervious to injury? Just hit the nigga harder. Everything breaks eventually.

Makes sense the argument would be how many individuals would be willing to go through the necessary hardships to actually achieve the ability to go "red steam/eight gates." I also agree on the rarity of it, but again, Madara probably saw this shit all the time during an era where these kind of jutsus were considered the norm. Even his statement, "Had I seen red steam maybe I'd be worried!?,"paraphrasing obviously but it just solidifies the point he's seen this shit before and was worried on how to deal with it.

I think the point is that if Guy goes 8 gates for nothing it will be just as crappy as Unohana's fight with Ken.

It should be blue, right? That was the color his body was sweating after his fight with Kisame:

That's what I thought too. Not really concerned about the color steam. But maybe its because im reading into it too much. It's more what Madara said. In one, he seems arrogant (which I think it is right) but in the other he seems cautious (if thats the right word)

Yeah I see what you're saying. One translation makes it sound as if he's actually concerned if Guy can use red steam, while the other makes it sound like he's saying "bring it bitch!" Ultimately I don't care about the steam color, I completely forgot that bit with open gates until this chapter lol.

I'm inclined to go with the first translation, given Madara's expression.

But I don't have the raw Japanese scan, so can't really say.

They do tend to take the odd liberty with slang here or there, but I agree, generally they're much more accurate then mangapanda

true, but the facial expression of madara says enough. That nigga does not want to play with the Red Beast.

I'm gonna go with MangaStream. Madara seemed genuinely concerned when he saw Guy open the Seventh Gate. Also here's a good explanation of the blue/green steam-

    http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Eight_Gates/Archive_1
The word in question here is ao. This word can refer to any colour ranging between blue and green. Both the sky and grass are ao. In modern Japanese, however, it usually refers to blue; for green they have the word midori. The kanji used to write the ao in this case isn't the usual kanji, though. Here, the kanji 碧 is used, whereas ao is normally written as 青. 碧 has a far stronger connection to green than 青 and can, in fact, even be pronounced as midori.
Then there's the symbolism. ao not only refers to colour, but also to anything young and youthful. In fact, not only is the sweat described as ao, Guy and Lee themselves are also called thus. They even use the same 碧 kanji. In English, the colour used for youthfulness is green. In the colour images we have of them, Kishimoto-sensei always colours Guy and Lee in pure, unambiguous green as well.
So although ao can refer to both blue and green, and even refers to blue most of the time, it is quite clear that in this specific case, green was meant. —ShounenSuki
Blue probably just looked better animated.

Didn't the anime use green steam back like 10+ years ago when Lee opened up five gates? I don't know, it's a stupid inconsistency but ultimately it's completely pointless to me.
