Obv. he didn't take them all out, but its possible he took two or three out. Amayuri Ringo and Momochi Zabuza weren't there, and Chojuro's original sword-user was there, so that's 3 people that could have been killed from Gai's father's hot-blooded rampage.

Also, kudos to him for mastering something that forbidden as a genin, even if it took him 20 years. Bitchin'.
