    Buu with Gotenks is sort of Fusion based seeing as he had a massive downgrade in speed once they de-fused inside. And of course X + Gohan > Gohan, so long as X isn't negative.

    To be fair Buu was like the only person other then his Grandpa that Goku had killed. It was about time he beat a main villian.

    Raditz - Piccolo

    Vegeta - Nobody but Goku actually got his ass handed to him and saved by the gang.

    Frieza - He beat him but Trunks killed him.

    Cell - Gohan

    Goku's best trait is that he is willing to die a lot.

    meh that was a bigger plot device than Gohan's mystic form.

    Vegeta may not be anywhere near the strongest, but at least he trained for his shit. He did give in and decide to go Majin, but it was well hinted that he was able to transform before being Majin, just didn't show his ssj2 form until after.

    Just to further support your line, when they were taking on those alien floor trials in Babidi's ship, Vegata said that both he and Goku were both stronger then Gohan was when he fought Cell (He also said Gohan was much weaker compared to then too lol).
