Kakashi is damn near blind, Minato is armless, and Gaara is exhausted and at his limit. And Lee is just a crappier version of Guy right now too. What else would Kishi do with that fight?

Madara isn't going to go all out until he's fighting Naruto or a Naruto/Sasuke team anyway. And even then, you'll probably complain about Madara being a troll, or Naruto using some kind of Rasengan spam =\

We got a long needed back story on The Sage of Six Paths.

No it's not, and no we didn't. Literally all we learned was that his mother was from a distant land of demon-like people, and that he had a brother. Neither information necessary or even relevant at the moment. Everything else was either explained or implied at an earlier point in the manga. Even the ninshuu/ninjutsu nonsense. Again, the flashback was the same regurgitated premise of two factions who were either brothers or friends locked into a war against each other because of different ideologies. I don't know how many times we have to see this recurring fucking theme over and over. We get it.

It's not having a high expectation for the story. It's seeing the battle interrupted yet again, for yet another cookie-cutter, love vs power, Kishi flashback. At least the back-story with Gai's pops actually fleshed out a character we care for and helped to build the history behind the eight gates that's currently being used.

Madara's fight can still go the distance, even without Kakashi/Obito/Orochimaru/Gaara/Lee/Guy/Minato. Just need Naruto and Sasuke (and co.). Add power up and mix to taste.

Like I said later on, I agreed that the rest of the information is rehashed, however it's a good thing.

Why people want high octane battles in every chapter of this manga is beyond me. People do like the stories behind every character and legendary figures too. This is a Love vs Power manga; you knew the theme would be recurring well over 5 years ago. Why be angered by it now? Take it for what it is or write it off as a waste of 1-3 weeks. It doesn't stop the manga from being any less amazing.

What chapter did you read lol? It was flat-out stated he was born from a woman who was worshiped as a goddess with no equal, giving him and his brother the power to tame the ten-tails. So yeah, he was that dude that people worshiped. And it was always apparent his teachings of ninshuu were misconstrued and inadvertently created wars through his lineage. If anyone in this thread thought at any point the Sage of Six Paths was going around teaching motherfuckas how to chuck meteors, than you're absolutely clueless.

It's not that everyone wants nonstop high-octane battles, and we all became well aware of theme of love vs power a long ass time ago, it's the way Kishi injects it into almost every single aspect of the anime. Like I said before, it's comical at this point. It's not used as a theme anymore and hasn't been for a long time. It's now a crutch for lazy ass story-telling used to prolong whatever is going on every ten chapters or so.

You knew what I meant. He was humanized in this chapter. I even said people were worshiped him since, I'm not arguing that fact at all, lol. I also stated that he went around giving people chakra as well as teaching people how to be good (and connect with each other). His teachings weren't even misconstrued, they simply took advantage of being taught how to manipulate chakra and weaponized it instead.

And what should Kishi do instead of common-flashback? What would you do? There's a reason why any mangaka throws in flashbacks like that, however the frequency of number. They use it as a reprieve so they can plan out how they want the upcoming battles and current story to play out. Not every fight scene and battle is fully planned out to the detail.
