Even Tsunade is a failure, and she's the best female nin we got.

She failed to kill orochimaru when Jiraiya came to tell her she's now hokage. She sacrificed herself (basically) to save konoha from dying to Pein, which was moot since Naruto power-of-friendshipped the village back to life any ways. And even in the current arc, the 5 mage had ONE job to do, and the bitch literally got split in half.

I bet this has been asked once or twice in this thread but here goes anyway: I skipped a lot of the last season of part I because I was tired of one-off episodes and not getting to see what happens to Sasuke/Orochimaru. So I'm about 10 episodes in to Shippuden, and while all this Akatsuki business is interesting and all, is the Sasuke/Orochimaru (basically, the death or reconciliation of either/both of them) going to be at the end of Shippuden? idk if I'm going to want to trudge through like 300 evil villain of the week episodes.

Shippuden starts off slowish, but builds up akatsuki very well for awhile. The sasuke/orochimaru thing will be bought up while konoha deals with akatsuki. It doesn't happen for a short while, but the journey there is fun and worth it. Stick with it, at least until after the Pein arc. That's when things got stupid in the anime.

The anime is pretty solid until the pein arc finishes. There's some dumb filler arcs you can skip. Once they start rebuilding kohana though, walk away entirely.
