Because it's almost impossible that human nations can ever cooperate for long periods of time without tons of incentive. Real life nations cooperate because of the threat of other nations, and because of economic incentives. However, the Naruto world has never shown a dependence on trade, and are always extremely hostile towards the concept of other nations allying themselves. As soon as two nations get into an argument with one another that they feel they can't back down on, either due to pride or the effects on their citizens, it'll just spiral downward again. It happens over, and over, and over again. Leaders of nations value their own citizens far above those of other nations. That might be natural, since they're representing their own people, but it leads to countless atrocities both in the real world and in the Naruto world. A single ruler can mediate any such disturbances and force one of them to back down without the use of military force. It would even work better in Naruto than the real world, since there's only 5 ninja nations, and they're much more homogenous than the real world (no religions, only 5 cultures, etc).

Of course, this is a shonen, so Naruto's non-plan of "let's have everyone cooperate always" will work anyway, but I still think Sasuke's would work more often in a more realistic medium.

Kakashi is next Hokage, Naruto is the first "MegaHokage" for the nation unifying all the clans in a few years? Still betting on settling things between him and Sauce.

They can cooperate, but they can also regress and become warlike again. Once Naruto's savior effects wear off, all it takes is another Danzo, or 5th Tsuchikage, or whatever to start it all up again. If there was only a single large nation, it would likely take longer for regression to happen. Look at our current relationship with Russia, for example; after the cold war ended, we were decent allies with them, but now Russia is at odds with tons of people over Ukraine. Personally, I believe uniting the world would make such things much less likely in real life as well, though it'd be harder in real life than in the Narutoverse because of much more varied religion, culture, and languages than the mostly unicultural Narutoverse.

Sasuke isn't blaming the current Kages specifically. He's blaming the 5 nation system, and to get rid of that, killing off the current Kages is a necessary sacrifice.

I see what you're saying, but it's too idealistic to be honest. Even for a Shounen manga. What anyone in the United States of America wouldn't give to blow up Congress and the White House and start over from the beginning. However, we all know reality doesn't work this way, nor can one person bring about such a radical change. Sasuke also doesn't have a plan for after he takes over. I'll legit give anyone here a dollar if they could tell me one thing Sasuke said he would do with his Ninja World after he's changed it. You see everyone on the Friendship is Power side always talking about protecting the future and shit, but never anything on the Uchiha side talk about this. If Sasuke wins, he should honestly settle down and fuck the shit out of Sakura, Ino and Karin and pump out new Uchiha generation.

And yeah, all it does take is one Danzo or Tsuchikage to fuck up relations, but at least after this ninja war is finally concluded there would be peace for at least 1 or 2 generations of new ninja. Everyone fought together and saw pain and anguish and then victory as one in this Arc, so it will tie them together for their generation, at least. Single nations have their own problems, which is usually internal strife at the highest levels, because everyone is playing for more power or the crown itself. Unless Sasuke is king shit, he better prepare himself for assassination attempts from all sides if he wins and reforms the ninja world.

Tell you what one good thing Kishimoto did for the manga however. With this last battle, I can't tell at all who will win between Naruto and Sasuke, which is a good thing. Yeah, the manga is called Naruto and all and he has the power of shounen-protagonist on his side, but the build up of both characters over the years to this point has been great and has led to a now (so far) ambiguous ending.

I think most people here saw this coming, however not the last part.

I honestly believe Sasuke cannot be saved, and he will need to be killed off. Thus begins Naruto's greatest problem, killing his "brother" for the sake of the Ninja World. Remember Itachi, and now Obito as well as Sage of Six Paths have left it up to Naruto to take care of Sasuke in any way possible for the sake of the world.
