Did you seriously expect characters not to get closure? Ending was as pefect as it could get honestly, I've criticized Kishimoto many times throughout these years but the finale is one thing he did right.

The finale (both Naruto v. Sasuke + the Aftermath) could've used five or so more chapters in my opinion, but for one single chapter that's about as good as can be expected.

Yeah i read the manga, I meant before that I had no idea it was possible to just 'retire' since Tsunade was still hokage before chapter 700

Kage name their successors unless killed in the battle beforehand, which presumably happens a lot. So most Kage who aren't killed should be able to retire provided they find a worthy successor and pass the title.

Technically the 2nd retired for a brief while (appointed the 3rd because he knew he was going to die imminently). The 3rd wanted to pass the title to Jiraiya, but Jiraiya felt unworthy because he failed to stop Orochimaru's fall. He got his chance to pass it on when Minato turned out to be a once-a-generation class talent, but had to come out of retirement when Minato used the death seal.

So this shouldn't be anything new really.

Didn't Naruto have the whiskers on his face when he was born, before the fox was even put in him? I attributed that to Kushina having Kyuubi chakra in her while he was in the womb.
