I'm not entirely convinced that Sakura doesn't have any sort of feelings for Naruto at all. Going back to early Shippuden, when Sakura first found what it means to be a Jinchuuriki and what will happen if Akatsuki extract the Kyuubi. She's seen crying and telling Naruto that she's worried about him. Doesn't sound like she wants him to be unhappy to me.

    Re: Naruto is back!

Yeah, Sakura cares for Naruto, not in a romantic way. They did go through a lot as genin and are still teammates now. I think Sakura grew up a lot in the time she spent away from Naruto and Sasuke and has a mature outlook on it all now. I don't believe Sakura's desire to get Sasuke back is romantic, either. I think she just wants to return to the days of Team 7, when although they fought all the time, it was a good time.

Also, I don't think her reaction in the movie was that out of character. If Naruto knew what he was saying, maybe she would have hit him, if he was the one who made that suggestion, she WOULD have hit him. But the suggestion was all Shion's, and there's really not a way for Sakura to angrily respond to that lol...

It's a lot more humorous than Naruto or Bleach at its best, even during filler, and the fights are somewhere between naruto's "everyone has some special ability" and bleach's "who has more power wins" in fighting style. I also think the anime is a lot better done. Instead of slowing down the entire episode, they just make it take forever to start (they have like 5-6min of intro's lol) but that isn't a real issue when you're downloading episodes and can skip through that. It also has a ton of variety in fighting styles. Luffy is able to stretch himself and bounce around in a sort of street-fighting style, Zoro is a swordsman, Sanji uses only his legs to fight in a martial arts style, etc. Very different styles of battle. They also give everyone a fight in each arc for the most part, whereas that's certainly not the case in Bleach and Naruto they usually only bring one of the 3 other main Konoha teams on an arc at a time.

One Piece just feels a lot more thought out and planned than Naruto and Bleach is only really about power fights, except for a bit recently since they're finally doing some storyline...

One Piece is a great anime that should be tried at least. The thing that makes it look unattractive is it's strange drawing-strechy/skinny style, along with it's somewhat childishness. As time goes on and you get hooked however, you start enjoying the drawing style and fall in love with the serious storyline of the anime. Also as another guy said, it's definitely more comedic and more irl lols than Naruto and Bleach. If you give it a shot and finish up to the end of Arlong Arc (30-45), I'm sure you'll be hooked and would want to see past that.

All in all, the anime is so enjoyable that I'm still contemplating whether I want to read the manga or not, due to the fact that I'm scared of not enjoying the anime anymore in terms of what the Naruto manga did to it's anime. (I'm not even watching shippuuden anymore)

Haha, yeah I agree completely. I am not going to be reading the One Piece manga if I can help it. The anime is so well done. I have pretty much given up on Bleach anime and probably would Naruto if not it being my favorite storyline/setting. Though even with that I still think One Piece is far better made.

    Re: Naruto is back!

I've always been turned away from One Piece due to the art of it, but maybe I'll check it out. I've had a very hard time watching any kind of anime though after watching Mai HiME, because I thought it was just a really fantastic anime and I really haven't found anything that, in my opinion, can compete with it. I tried watching Bleach, only got to like episode 30-35 before I got bored and kind of just forgot about it. Have tried watching several other anime and just lost interest in them over time.

Have you seen Mai Otome then?

And if you can't get into the big, long anime series, stick with shorter ones. I feel/felt the same way about Mai Hime, but there are a LOT of short one-season anime's that are of just as high quality(as Mai Hime). I know I'm not even close to watching them all and I can tell you that for sure.

    Re: Naruto is back!

Yeah I watched Mai Otome as well, I liked it just as equally as Hime.

The thing is though, I know I'd like Bleach. I know I'd like Code Geass, and I know I'd like the handful of other anime I have started and stopped watching. It's just that I lose interest in watching them. I think it's because I watch too much at once and pretty much force myself to finish, and eventually just stop watching altogether. I didn't have to do that with Hime/Otome and Elfen Lied, three that come to mind almost instantly. I just have some anime ADD or something.

one piece is definitely the best long-ongoing-anime in my books. If you like things like bleach and naruto, then by far is one piece #1. It's hard to adjust to, and strange to get into, awkward to watch if other people are around (lol) but it's so so great.

Also, as suggested, try some shorter series. If you haven't done claymore yet, what are you waiting for. Deth note and claymore should be completed on everyone's lists.

One Piece looks so dumb based on what I've seen on CN. It's some goofy looking kid who can stretch. At times I think Naruto and Bleach are dumb enough but at least their stories seem to make sense. I don't know how much sense I can make of a kid who eats some fruit and can magically stretch now and wears straw hats. That's just odd.

    1) The first incarnation of dubbed One Piece COMPLETELY RAPED One Piece. They tried to make it a kids show for the ages of like 5, and it's AT LEAST 13ish in maturity level by the time you get to the Arlong Arc and it gets far more serious and graphic as you get into it.

    2) You can say the same thing about some baby who got a demon shoved up his ass and is now able to do amazing things even though he flunked out of school.

    3) It's a straw hat, and it's a memorable item from a man who saved his life. He wears just one.

    4) One Piece has more comradary and more laughs than either Naruto or One Piece. It's wonderfully made, give it an honest try until you trash it. Which means finish the Arlong Arc, the anime keeps getting better and better, whereas Naruto and Bleach seem to be getting more dull (anime-wise)

Actually started Claymore and didn't like the art style either for some reason. Stopped watching Death Note about midway as well.

I have commitment issues apparently. But I'm going to knock out Code Geass first. I got to what, like fifteen or sixteen and just lost all desire to click a few links to get an episode to load.

The crazy thing is, I watched Naruto up to the fillers without ever once losing interest, but I can't find myself willing to watch your typical 24-26 episode anime haha. It's actually pretty frustrating.

    Anyway...

I'm anxious for the manga this coming week. I'm curious if they will end up showing the First and Madara's fight, because I know I can't be the only one who wants to see it.

I'm the say way, it was easy to get into Naruto and Bleach but other animes turn me off. The only other anime I actually enjoyed and wish they'd do another season for is School Rumble. That shit was good. If someone can give me a good episode of One Piece to watch that gives me a good example of how him being able to stretch will be remotely interesting in battles then link, but I just think that whole idea for the main character is a bit gimmicky, it's obviously my opinion without watching it but I don't think I should have to watch an anime for like 50 episodes (until the Arlong Arc?) to get hooked. That's doing their job for them, they should be hooking my interest not slowing gaining it :/

The characters can be funny, and there is enough fighting to keep people interest. I've seen the last 50 episodes because my friends watch them when I'm around, and I can understand why some people like it. Personally, the light hearted content turn me off, but it's probably not fair to judge it if you havent seen many episodes. I've to say one thing tho, the animation in the show lately is pretty good compared to bleach and naruto (naruto has been particularly horrible lately).

Either way, fuck 300ep series. 24-48 only.

    [edit]
If you liked School rumble, I cant understand why you wouldnt like 3/4 of shows since it's pretty much the basic setting for most comedy. Manga is almost over apparently, so the 3rd seasons will probably be made after.

    You're crazy.

My guess is that you're not paying enough attention when you watch animes, and you never get the chance to like the characters. It's not possible to cares about a show when you dont feel any attachment toward the characters, unless the plot/graphic are fucking incredible.

If you are playing ffxi while watching anime, talking to people, watching it with friends who talks the whole time or something like this, it's probably why you cant get into most of those shows. If you're watching anime alone, and trying to pay attention to the story, you would probably enjoy those series more.

Maybe I'm wrong, but many people have that problems

    Re: Naruto is back!

If stage6 was up I know I could link you to an edited clip of Luffy vs the last guy he fought, forgetting his name, Enies Lobby arc main guy. Enies Lobby was an arc of epicness and was the last full arc the anime got through.

And can you really not see the applications of being elastic? Ever used a slingshot? He can do that with his own body. And since he's elastic, the pain (for the most part) doesn't hurt him, he can just slingshot his entire body into someone and cause massive damage to them with little done to him. He can also deflect bullets and at times cannonballs using certain moves that he does. Luffy is not Mr. Fantastic, his entire body and all of his organs are made of rubber, which he can bend and "unbend" at his will.

And there is a very serious more overall tone to the anime, but Luffy on his own is a very light-hearted guy, similar to how Naruto is always upbeat, except Luffy was there first and is in an actual position of power so his light-heartedness is seen a lot more.

Just "put up" with One Piece until you finish the Arlong arc, that's merely the beginning of things getting good, but if you can make it until then I think you'll want to watch more. But as someone told me a long time ago before I decided to watch it (One Piece came well after Naruto or Bleach for me) it doesn't really get good until the Grand Line.
