I just like the variety in each character. People complain about luffy's stretching for some reason, but at least not every single character is stretching and such. Each and every characters abilities are VASTLY different, naruto and bleach don't come close to that. You can say everyone has different bloodlines or ninjutsu, or different bankai's, but it's still not like onepiece. There is a reason One Piece is more popular than both bleach and naruto.

How is that a plus? 1/2 of the power make ultra lame battles, or create plot hole. I don't mind the different powers, but I dont see how it's an advantage over a more restrictive world.
What make a story interesting imo is how they build the story within the rule set. If devil fruits allow the user to have any power, it's hard to find any plot twist clever, or at least, one involving their power.

Devil Fruit users aren't the only ones that are powerful. There are many different ways to obtain power and be successful. The old pirate king, Gold Roger, isn't even confirmed to have been a DF user, but it's assumed he was the most powerful of his era. The Devil Fruits can give any type of power in any variety of ways. Even with bloodline limits it's still just a different way to use chakra and there are limitations to it. Not really the case with OP. But I don't really see why I'm so trying so hard to explain this to you, when the main issue is that you didn't even see the story build up and how it came about, which is a very important part when getting the OP story. All of the characters have complexity behind them and every member of the crew has had an arc about their childhood explained, which gives you a lot of insight about why they are who they are now and where they are now.

There is a One Piece thread, but last I checked it was mostly about the manga and I don't want to get anything spoiled since I love the anime so much I still prefer Naruto to One Piece because I like ninjas more than pirates, but I think One Piece is wonderfully well-made.

I prefer One Piece to Naruto. My reason? Because Naruto's been way too fucking lame lately, and a few awesome chapters of the manga doesn't make up for it.

Just how much have you watched? Also, about Usopp/Chopper crying all the time and being useless... should we also say the same thing for characters in Naruto/Bleach? God knows there are a lot of them there. "ZOMG I'M TOO WEAAAK" "Why can't I do anything nooooo;;" and bullshit. It's in every Sh?nen series out there. The fact that you don't know how good Usopp actually is... it's kind of funny. Same goes for Chopper. They've had their bright spots just as say.. Sakura. She's had her bright spots (few and far between), but more baaaaaaaaaaaawwwww to her character than usefulness.

Either way, I suppose what I'm trying to say, no one can force you to like something. It doesn't exactly give you the right to shit all over it either.

If you don't want to find out why, thats fine, but naruto is pretty bleh lately and bleach is in fillers, at least you'll have something to do in the meantime if you try getting into OP. I'm not sure why you try to explain this to me because I know this already, and it doesnt matter how they get their power in either show. Boyiee was basically saying that One Piece is superior to Naruto and Bleach (at least, that's the impression someone would get from his post) because there is more variety in the powers used by characters.

If you want to convince me he is right, then explains me why vastly differents power is a better thing, not how One Piece's power works. I dont think his argument is valid for the reason I mentioned before.

Some Water7, Enies Lobby, and Thriller Bark. I watched the first 10 episodes as well, the first 5-6 in that sky island and a few random episodes here and there. That's 50 episodes out of 300, if not more. None of those were fillers episodes, so that's not an excuse either. How many do I have to watch to argue about the show? 50 episodes is 2 fucking seasons of any animes....that's more than enough to make comments, and have a good idea of what I like/dislike in the show. If there was some emotional moment involving the character, it should happens more often than once every 50 eps.

There is weak people in every shonens, but weak people who have a whole episode of screaming and running away in hysteria? I don't think so. Like I said in my first post, there is some good point, and I can see why some people like it (actually, my post to maguspk didnt have any negative about OP), but not everything is positive about the show. And trying to find out which one is better between Naruto, One piece or Bleach is retarded and come down to everyone's bias.

For the matter, I dont like naruto either, and watched less than 30 episodes (almost all of them are from shipudden). I would probably enjoy the manga, but I never bothered with it. Only shonen I read is Bleach.

Getting hooked? Probably. I forced myself through a ton of series, and usually ended up liking them with the exception of a few. I liked a half of the main cast and can see myself cheering up for them. Do I want to get hooked into a 300 episodes show? I will pass. Might read the manga once everything is over, but I would rather watch 10x24 episodes season that are most likely more enjoyable.

I said I liked the variety and originality in powers/abilites, I wasn't trying to convince you that that made the show superior. Everyone has different tastes, I wasn't interested in the show at all and thought it was a joke for a while until I forced myself into it, now I prefer it to the other 2 especially where it's at in comparison to where the others are at. To me the show is slightly superior in that it just keeps me going. Bleach anime and naruto anime I've completely stopped watching, I am only into the mangas now and of which, I LOVE bleach. One piece just is my favorite ongoing anime and while I can't give you 100 reasons why I find it better or whatnot, I just seem to enjoy it more now that I'm into it. It's a nice break maybe, very goofy and such and entertaining. Not the same fights and lines and more uniqueness.

And also, I prefer shorter seasoned shows much more as well. Give me more E7 Deathnote Claymore and so on anyday. I regret sometimes getting into those 3 big shows because sometimes the directions they go really really piss me off or annoy me in that, they don't stick to their roots or something. I'm always waiting for next week's episode because I was so disappointed with the week priors etc... so yeah, seeing as you already gave it a chance, definitely pass lol.

Sorry then, I just had the impression you were saying it made One Piece superior series. I did say in my first post that One Pieces anime was done better than other two (at least the recent episodes). It got nice animation, and isnt trying to waste as much time (if you exclude the the skippable 8min "in the last episodes part" and Robin's flashback). Storywise, I dont even want to get into a debate about which one is the best, because I don't think anyone can answer this without involving personal taste.

That's how I feel about Bleach, and exactly why I didnt touch Naruto and One Piece. Out of the ~90 series I watched, there is only 2 I hated (girl bravo and popotan), and 4-5 that didn't leave me wanting more. Considering how many people likes those 3 shows, I'm certain I would enjoy Naruto and One Pieces, but I'm not sure it's worth the time.

Bleach had an epic Grimmjaws fight 2-3 episodes ago if it's not the one you meant. Naruto had one good fight (when he turns into 4tails), but it was nowhere near the one in bleach. Other shippuden episodes are so slow it's unwatchable.

Honestly aside from a few moments in each of the episodes the Naruto 4-tails was just too slow to be enjoyable. There were times when I was like "LOL awesome!" but it took about 5min to prep for that one move. The only reason I keep watching the Naruto anime is just because I like the characters enough the poor anime production isn't enough to get me away from it. On the other hand I don't enjoy bleach so much and I haven't yet even downloaded the episode for the epic Grimmjow fight, need to find which episode it is and do that though >.>

One Piece I just can't get enough of. It's an awesome story, awesome cast and the anime is really well-made compared to the other two.

On one hand I agree that 10x24 series would be more enjoyable, but one thing I like about these long lasting animes is that I don't have to give up seeing some of the characters I've fallen in love with, like in the short ones once you get to the end it's really over, you don't get another next week, and although I generally enjoy 24 of those episodes more than any direct string of 24 episodes in the other anime...the long ones keep coming back and I get to keep seeing my favorite characters again and again. And honestly, Enies Lobby was just about as good as those shorter animes in emotion and action, IMO. I loved that arc so damn much. And I mean really...where the fuck is my Haruhi season two? I heard that was coming Fall of 2007...the wait between seasons of the anime that do come back for more is also hard to bear, lol. I'm lucky I didn't get into Code Geass until mid-March, the wait for season two was really really short.
