Maybe Itachi lied to Sasuke so that Sasuke would assume that it was Madara, because Itachi was loyal to the hidden village of the leaf still, and knew that once Sasuke killed him, that Madara would most likely tell him the truth etc, thus planted the amaterasu in sasuke to further corrupt Sasuke's mind about who is good and who is bad, because if Sasuke's amaterasu didn't go off when Madara revealed his sharingan, I doubt he would be as hostile and would probably listen to Madara more/help him out, so more Itachi fuckin with Sasuke?

I'm sure he knew it was a fake. I mean, it's fucking Itachi. I'm really liking the manga's route now, regardless of whether Madara is lying or Itachi was lying, it leaves a lot of possibilities open for Sasuke to take. For one, I really hope he tries to go after Konoha, just to get some more epic fights in. Or at least kick Naruto's fucking ass so that he realizes, "Oh, okay, Sasuke doesn't wanna come back, and I'll never be able to make him!"

I'm kind of hoping that Sasuke confronts everyone at the village gates or something, and whips out the whole "Oh, by the way, Naruto. Did you know that Konoha ordered Itachi to kill my whole family? Haha, silly dead last. ^-^" and then Sakura's useless ass will be all, "omg konoha u suck lol, i'm joining Sasuke." and then AMIGAD DRAMA.


Edit: At this point, I can see Sasuke taking over Akatsuki or something. Or at least joining them. Man would that be sexy. @_@

well considering they lost a few members, and namely and incredibly strong one with sharingan, I wouldn't be surprised if madara asks sasuke (or tells him) to join akatsuki.

I could see Madara having to choose his words very carefully for Sasuke to consider joining Akatsuki. He's always been as passive as possible as far as killing people. He never killed anyone with Orochimaru's training, he's always tried avoiding it to spite Itachi. Then again, if Madara reveals the truth behind gathering the demons to be the destruction of Konoha, then maybe. We'd first have to find out what Akatsuki is really about, and given the fact that Madara is the leader, it's looking more and more like they are gathering demons to do what I mentioned. Then we'd have to see whether Sasuke is going to be pissed off at Konoha or not, which I'd be willing to bet quite a bit he's going to be.

Which makes me begin to wonder whether Itachi would have known about the ultimate goals of Akatsuki, and whether he was still aligned with Konoha to try to stop the plan from within or get back at Konoha for making him do what he did. Keep in mind he spared Naruto when he could have gotten away with him, saying something like "He's not ready." Not really sure what Naruto being ready would have anything to do with extracting a demon, but whatever.

I'm not sure how everyone feels about fanfiction, but after a friend pointed this out I read it, and I have to suggest anyone else who is a fan of Naruto to read it as well:

The basis of the fanfiction is what would be the case if Kiba was on team 7 and Naruto joined team 8 with Kurenai as the sensei and Hinata and Shino as his teammates.

Potential spoilers about where the fanfiction heads:
1) Naruto relearns all of the basics, including additional taijutsu work with Gai and Lee that make his clones not suck ass.
2) Sasuke is lol and hardly a focus, Shino doesn't take the Sasuke role at all.
3) Shino is a badass in the most awesome way.
4) The plot point from canon about everyone hating Naruto as a child is expanded upon and is not simply shrugged off like in the real story.
5) Naruto isn't a total fool outside of big plot fights, he actually thinks intelligently about many things, this is because of Kurenai's way of teaching.

For the most part the author keeps most of the significant events the same, including pre-team selection events like Naruto jumping Sasuke and Naruto and Sasuke locking lips, as well as each part of the Chuunin exam being the same scenarios, though not everything is the same.

Conclusion: If you hate Sasuke and wish he was never in the Naruto storyline, you will probably enjoy this fanfiction. If you love Hinata and/or Shino, you will certainly love this fanfiction.

Yeah, same here. That's why I love the fanfiction so much. Shino and Hinata are two of my favorite of the Konoha 11 and now they're the 3rd and 2nd most focused upon characters in this storyline, it's wonderful. I have a bunch of anime/TV shows downloaded but once I got into this a bit I couldn't stop until I caught up with as far as he's gone now lol

Hasn't happened yet, but they train together and thus are much closer than in the canon. Maybe post time-skip (I'm assuming this will still happen) but they're just at the end of the Chuunin exam when the big battle takes place.

EDIT: Good chapter this week too, although it didn't really reveal anything that hadn't been strongly implied or stated outright in one of the last few chapters.
