I just hope Sasuke believing Madara leaves it open for Madara vs Kakashi. I really want to see Kakashi go 100% in a 1 vs 1 fight. I'll be upset if Naruto gets Sasuke to "change sides" after beating him, or losing to him but not giving up in some sacrificial way, then they'll team up to beat Madara. Although I have a feeling that's really what's going to happen, and Kakashi's best fight will be against Pein.

Man I kinda don't want Kakashi to fight Madara or Pein because that'd (logically...) mean he'd die.

I'm not sure Kakashi could've killed the clay guy on his own, but clay guy going after Naruto probably complicated things. And Kakashi was getting kind of worked by the 5-part guy too, alone.

Although I'd love to be surprised and see a breakthrough for Kakashi. He, Shikamaru, and Jiraiya are the best characters in Naruto, imo, but sadly it seems like Kakashi has been stuck on the Konoha jounin plateau as far as power goes.

Bah! I think you need to give Kakashi more credit. Everytime he's fighting someone it seem's he has to be protecting others (I'm talking about you, Mr. Dattebayo!) I think we would see a different kind of fight from Kakashi if he knew straight out he didn't have to worry about Naruto or go into the fight trying to capture them for information.

Too bad he was scared out of his fucking mind when he confronted Oro, pretty sure he knows his own limitations, and his complete lack of confidence in himself doesn't exactly reassure me of his strength.

Kakashi being afraid against Oro? That doesn't seem like his personality at all, maybe a little scene where he thinks to himself that this could get dangerous or that he needs to escape...

Kakashi is like Shikamaru but with better abilities, a Sharingan and more chakra. The high level of intelligence alone gives him a significant advantage even though his chakra pool is small and he doesn't really have a real bloodline to fall back on.

Going all out or not, he is still on jounin plateau i think as well. Pretty sure tsunade jiraiya sasuke naruto to name a few are past him in abilities/strength whatever you want to call it, just not as high in intelligence. Before the time skip Jiraiya told kakashi straight out that he'd be fucked if he hung onto naruto and ran into akatsuki. Sure maybe he's gotten better since time-skip, but not as much as the others have.

I spent the last 20 minutes trying to remember when Kakashi or Naruto fought some Clayface-esque shapeshifter, until I realized you meant Deidara.

But yeah, I wouldn't say Kakashi is scared or lacking confidence- he's just smart and realistic (his mind in a fight works similar to Shikamaru, rather than BELIEVE IT! boy Naruto. Even Jiraiya v. Pein we saw some similar mindset). I'd say Kakashi can still whoop Naruto's ass pretty handily barring 4 tails though, and I'll also say that Sasuke can definitely beat Kakashi now with his wtfhawk Sharingan.

Kakashi still probably has a few tricks up his sleeve. I mean he knows well over a thousand different jutsus, right? : p I see him playing an important part in fighting one of the higher-ups. Kisame is obviously gonna duke it out with Gai as much as I hated that fight since Gai is just going to get his ass kicked by him anyway.

I could see Kakashi trying to defend Naruto from Pein/Sasuke only to get defeated and have Naruto enter the fight in a furious rage and go kick some ass with his new "powers".

Either way I'd like to know what role Akatsuki will play now in the series, seeing as how Tobi has "ditched" them to go destroy Konoha with Sasuke.

Don't forget, Kakashi could have taken out Kakuzu with his MS technique if Naruto and co. didn't show up. It just resulted in Kakashi being able to be apart of the next mission, as opposed to his usual week of bed rest after expending all his chakra. I'm sure he's still got a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Against Kakuzu, he seemed more preoccupied about taking care of Ino and Chouji then fighting 1 vs 1

The good thing about Kakashi is that he more than likely has a cop-out move for everything he could face. Known as the copy cat ninja or whatever, and having well over a thousand jutsu (of which we probably know about 100 throughout the manga?), that leaves open a lot he could be capable of if not for offense, but defense. I doubt Kakashi would end up dying, though; there has already been a major character killed off that's directly influenced Naruto. Anyone else and I'm sure Naruto would just wreck everyone's shit because he wouldn't be able to control himself, and while I see this happening, I see it happening as a result of what Sasuke is planning to do, not the death of another friend.

[spoiler:1azj17pz]I just realized something interesting. Itatchi couldn't kill his own brother. What if he plans on getting naruto to? I mean look at it this way, Itatchi always tried to protect the village even in his death he tried to. What if he realized there was no hope making sasuke see why he did what he had done. So all that is left is to have naruto kill him.[/spoiler:1azj17pz]

[spoiler:1azj17pz]Itatchi broke sasuke's cursed seals which was one of his greatest strengths. Took out maru also. Looks like he made him weaker. He might have given him Ms but maybe he thought sasuke would over use it making him even weaker in naruto's fight....well it's all a theory. Maybe my best one to date.[/spoiler:1azj17pz]

Orachimaru used that doujutsu that induces fear, same one that Sasuke used on Sai (who has no emotions).
Kakashi was all prepared to sacrifice his life to kill Orochimaru before it was used. He has no self confidence issues

Kakashi was Jounin level before he got Sharingan, now he has Mangekyo and is easily an Akatsuki level ninja.

Ya, he's most definitely high ranking. I think even with his small chakra pool, like I said earlier, he is smart enough to be able to fight efficiently and outwit a majority of his opponents. He's the copy ninja because he's had so much experience just fighting with other ninjas and collecting their jutsus, getting Mangekyou just seals the deal in his power. The only problem is if his Mangekyou is countered it really fucks him over because using the Sharingan as a non-Uchiha seems to kill his chakra like 100% of the time.

Lest we forget, Kakashi used that space-hole technique against Deidara 3 times before he collapsed. That's comparable to where Itachi was in the first series, when he had to turn off his Sharingan to conserve energy after using Tsukiyomi (on Sasuke) and Amaterasu (to escape Jiraiya's trap) just once each.
