Fun chapter. Not a whole lot happened, but I still enjoyed it.

No anime this week. However, July 3rd, we're getting a double episode.

I have an idea about the numbers actually. While the page number idea seems pretty good, I'm thinking that maybe it's just a combination of various numbers that Jiraiya's said to Naruto in the past. 106 (106 cm) is Tsunade's bust, so that word is "Tsunade", for example.

Does that seem logical or am I just crazy with stupid ideas?

Also, any chapter where Naruto gets real character development, it's a good chapter.

just look at the story progression in the chapters leading to where he wrote the number.

The flashback to the Great Sage telling him he will write a book about his travels.
Then the flashback to fights with other ninjas as he recognizes the faces of each of peins bodies.
Pein has 7 bodies and there are 7 numbers, each one has to be a page number in his book revealing the identity of Pein's bodies, revealing who Pein really is. Grandpa Toad even states he could have escaped but died to get this message out so that they could defeat Pein.

Naruto will absolutely destroy Pein if the pattern of this manga continues in the way that it always has.
I hope it doesn't get cheapened and flamed by naruhaters but I have a feeling Kishi will make Naruto destroying Pein an extremely amazing fight. Also this fight would allow for some internal Itachi mentoring Naruto development if what I predicted from the transfer is true.

I really really really want to see a Kakashi and Jiraiya Gaiden. I think it'd be a perfect mix of funny jokes, badass fights, and sneaky information gathering.

Anyway, I'm hoping that they don't drag this code shit on for too long. The next chapter is titled "The Solution" but I'm not holding my breath that anything will be revealed next week other than "we have ze code broke!" and then chapter end, then the next (several) chapters will be back to Sasuke, and then a couple months down the road we'll return to Naruto and the solution.

I'm glad to be seeing more of Shikamaru though. He's always been in my top three most favorite characters (alongside Kakashi and Neji, if anyone's curious), and it's pretty cool to see how mature he's gotten compared to everyone else. I'm hoping his little pep talk with Naruto will make Naruto grow up some as well, but I'm not getting my hopes up about that.

Haha ya, everybody else wears bright colors and is all out and about everywhere. Kakashi just oozes that aura of mystery and always just poofs out of nowhere.

Also, I've been thinking, Naruto is the only Shounen anime I've seen that doesn't have some sort of "instant move" technique available to it's main character. That just further supports the idea Naruto is going to be a teleporting badass soon enough.

They'll go into the hyperbolic cave when Pain annouces the rain country is going to hold a tournament for the world's best ninjas. There they will train for a few years perfecting Naruto's teleport jutsu so he can save the world and unlock his hidden potential and go SSJ2. Oh wait.

Naruto needs some of the 4ths moves + more frog power and some of Jiraiya's "wisdom" when it comes to fighting. I also want to see Shikamaru and Kakashi take up some chakra endurance training, because the constant mechanism for their fights is figuring out how to win before they get worn out, so a little variety would be nice. I really like Kakashi vs. Zabuza where he had to mentally break down a very powerful fighter in order to win, without the whole "o noes my sharingan/chidori is tired". Konoha needs those two to buff up a bit chakra-wise, because both are badass and know a lot of techniques they use really intelligently.

I don't remember the Kakashi/Zabuza what exactly happened the way you described it as a mental battle intrigues me because I just remember some giant shuriken being thrown around and the team being stuck in little water capsules.

Kakashi basically used Sharingan to fuck with his head. The challenge/weakness in the fight for Kakashi was protecting his team, as Haku was much more experienced and able of a fighter and Zabuza was a handful of his own.
