Banned.
Yeah. Now that you mention it, it does sort of remind me of Kushina, but how would they have met? So much about Pein/Pain's history that's annoying. Maybe he is based off of Jiraiya specifically and who he's met overall, and the clues from him will relay to Naruto and the gang that simple fact. Hrm. D:
Also, just click the image button on the quick reply.
Rin or Kushina, either way he'd be mentally screwing with someone who is an asset to helping Naruto, or Naruto himself. Not sure if Naruto actually knows who Kushina is, but it wouldn't take much to confuse Naruto.
If this code does turn out to be anything with page numbers in his book, what a shame. Such a rip off of Death Note.
Well I thought of Rin, too, when I couldn't figure out who this new version of Pain reminded me of so I looked up some pictures. Rin had markings on her face similar to Kiba (only two squares compared to what Kiba has), so I ruled her out based on that even though they're apparently not red considering the difference of not being colored in.

Also, going on the assumption that Jiraiya would have known this girl like you said Akiyama, I think it would be more likely that it was Kushina than Rin.
Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. It would then be a "coincidence" that Pein/Pain brings Kushina to Naruto, and there he'd probably end up finding out his parents. It'd be an interesting way to let him find out for sure. For some reason though, I do feel it may lean that way seeing as Naruto would be inheriting Jiraiya's enemy.
If it is his mom, I could somehow see the body defecting against Pain's control at a critical moment and either killing him or telling Naruto how to before she suicides or something.
Wow. The second half of the hour long special was the best filler yet!
This whole arc is amazing so far. I like where it is going.
we finally saw rin in the show.
Ok well we saw it at the end of the first 30min of the special when tsunade was looking at pictures
was the old minato (sp) kakashi obito and rin picture. And i didn't know she had black hair :O
anyway the filler are amusing this time
Just watched the latest eps and looks like this filler is worth while after all
When does the good filler start? I might check it out.
I don't really find any filler to be "good" but that is just my own opinion. >.>
most filler isn't "good" but this one is better then most atm and where it's starts for me at last is the last esp, it "looks" like it might be "good" but who knows.
I kinda feel like calling BS on how powerful these 4 NIN are supposed to be. Konoha is supposed to be one of the strongest ninja villages, and these guys just come waltzing in while killing squads of jounin like it's nothing?
Also, I believe Orochimaru developed the resurrection technique (Edo Tensei) and it was stated to be a forbidden jutsu. Now this random filler guy is supposed to be able to resurrect an entire village of zombies?
Also, isn't the main guy supposed to be part of that group that Asuma was in, and Asuma defeated him? Granted that was years ago so it's only natural for both of them to have gotten stronger, but still Asuma never struck me as one of the more powerful jounin.
I still did enjoy the episode, but I find the 4 NIN strength kind of unbelievable.
The mangaka has no hand in the filler so don't dwell too much on power inconsistencies.
Asuma is really powerful, you will see very soon once they stop the fillers. His arc is about to start.
The only character who was previously stated to be a Jonin that I noticed on the front lines in that battle was the guy that always has the needle in his mouth. Genma? Something like that.
As for Edo Tensei, I don't think Orochimaru actually invented it, because when he used it, the resurrected Hokages were like "He used Edo Tensei?" like they had already seen or heard of it in their lifetimes.
Morino Ibiki and Ebisu are both jonin too.
