I was being sarcastic. Naruto has a bad rep within the anime community and hardcore Naruto(and Anime) fans have a bad rep of dissing everything else especially old stuff.

I doubt he'd really die or anything like that. It's just a sense of dying so he can become one with the nature around him and be reborn again. Sort of like when someone is a "born again Christian" and such. Hate to use a religious analogy here, but that was the only thing I can think of after just waking up.
