yeah, that wasnt a cop out.. without knowing Piens trick the only way to get him would be an attack from where none of his bodies is looking. hell, one of the bodies still managed to not get hit.

Thats a good point, that the one still didn't get hit. Both hands were used to kill the one, and the other who couldn't see them still, dodged it.

Along with jedi mind tricks, I still think this body is pretty intimidating compared to the others.

Also, konan is suffocating alot of people wow lol. Kinda brutal. It's been a while since we've seen the slug as well from Tsunade, chances are the losses to the village aren't going to be as bad as they look due to OPchainheal from the slugs.

looks to me like each hand tried to kill only one of the bodies. one body probably noticed the hands coming down, but only one could react fast enough.

The first thing that I though upon reading this chapter is Tsunade's time is just about up. The battle will be won at some point and then it will cut over to her dead from the slug using up all her chakra to heal the village.

it's probably an excuse to keep Tsunade out of the fight all together. drain her of her chakra so she cant fight. Piens bodies are probably gonna be kept split up for the most part, with smaller teams of ninja fighting them, and the author doesnt want Tsunada running in and just killing 1.

Also in regards to the killing of the pein body. From what I could see, it looked like the act of hitting Kakashi's lightning clone cause some sort of paralysis, which allowed the hands of death to connect with that body, but not the other.

Or I could be reading too far into it.

Yeah I'd guess this. It was a lightning clone so I'd bet it's more than just a fizzle and despawn when it gets hit. I think what was shown was the lightning actually attacking Pein's body after fizzling, which would cause a paralysis.

From the clues so far his ability seems to be some sort of Chakra Magnetism, like how he can control his realms with the metal things in their faces, and how he sucked Kakashi in...

I'd bet even if Konoha defeats everyone attacking it right now the only loss would be Konan and a temporarily weakened Pein. Most likely Pein isn't there in his true form...they seem to be getting an upper hand right now and either they're (Pein) going to snap back and Naruto come to the rescue or they'll (Pein) be "defeated" but that's not going to be the end. This wouldn't be the epic end to Pein unless Naruto came back, so there's something more about Pein.

During this week's episode, 81, there's a scene where they are in the Akatsuki hideout extracting the two-tails jinchuuriki. Hidan mentions wanting to keep fighting the godless Konoha ninja and Pein says something interesting.

Maybe an interesting insight to the motives of some characters hidden there because a lot of them make sense, especially if the zooms on Itachi, Kakuzu and Hidan were purposed.
