I just wish we could find out what exactly the Rinnegan does. I don't know if the gravity thing and the ability to control multiple bodies/link their vision is Rinnegan shit or just Pein being a badass.

well, in that instance, the stupid looking one was barely alive, so I'm sure killing a soon to be dead body is better than a fresh unharmed one. but still, that is the body we've only really seen Pein as.

also next week: pein gets caught in a genjutsu set up by kakashi and then takes the time to straight up kamui his ass. but little does kakashi know there's a body that can EVEN BRING BODIES BACK FROM DIFFERENT DIMENSIONs and then he is truly fucked.

As much as I'd love to see that happen, if just to save Kakashi from an untimely end, I doubt it. Kakashi could barely stave off Itachi's genjutsu, and iirc the rinnengan was supposed to be the most powerful eye technique. It's not very plausible that Kakashi would be able to trap Pein in a genjutsu in the first place, and he certainly doesn't have the chakra to use his sharingan's "full" potential (can't remember the name).

For all we know he could just use his headband to deflect it, or use his remaining chakra to shadow clone tunnel to safety (or victory?) a-la naruto vs neji.


However if it just takes out Kakashi's eye, what would become of him? He won't be able to do even the "simplest" of techniques without it. Even his signature Chidori requires the Sharingan to avoid counter attacks.

/sigh. Is it next Thursday yet? The week of speculation is going to drive me nuts lol

there's a possibility he could've mangekyo'd the nail. but yeah losing sharingan would hurt kakashi a lot, although he would still have thousands of techniques at his disposal and could avoid the chakra/stamina drain of the eye.

What if that nail is the true secret of pein? If he hits you with what looks like a nail but is really a chakra conductor and it turns you into one of his pawns? He just lost a body so he does need a new one.

I doubt Kakashi will be able to Kamui the nail since he has little to no chakra left. I'd say it's pretty obvious that the nail made contact with Kakashi and not a shadow clone based on the last panel. It's just a matter of how much damage was actually done.

Calling it now, naruto will defeat Akatsuki by befriending them all. They will have no choice but to kill each other.
