There kinda has to be an important death here - not just for Naruto's pissed-offness, but for Pain's credibility too. I mean come on, when the main bad guy who's been compared to a god comes into town and crushes shit, but none of the strong people actually die, where's the fear?

Worse, last time we saw all his bodies rampaging, they killed Jiraiya, and we know how badass he was. You can't tell me all those bodies invade Konoha and get nothing but some buildings and nameless-nins.

Doesn't have to be Kakashi, but if someone who's already been proven to be one of the strongest in the village doesn't die, I'm gonna be kinda let down. Kakashi's just the leading candidate.

kakashi wont die, it seems like too much of a lame way for him to be killed off. i think he just means after teleporting the missle he is gonna have no energy to even move so he is as good as dead. at which point someone or something will step in to save him.

The only thing that's ever been said in the story is that Kakashi would have the potential standing to be the next Hokage if Tsunade died. However, it's also been pointed out that as strong as Kakashi is, he has very, very limited chakra, and can't sustain himself for extended periods of time.

Kakashi definitely isn't the strongest nin in Konoha, but he's sort of like a Super Star in the Mario games. He's crazy strong, paired with intelligence, but he's got low, low stamina. I'd put him towards the top of the list for sure, but I don't think he's anywhere near on par with Tsunade/Naruto/Sakura. I'm kind of interested to see what Danzou can do though, he seems like he'd be pretty badass.

Sakura is nowhere near the top. She's basically a medic-nin with a punch, that's it. Sure she's smart, has insane chakra control, and knows how to heal people. But she just can't handle battles, she's shown repeatedly in the past she can't do ANYTHING on her own. :<

Now Naruto, on the other hand, has pretty much done everything on his own, lol.

I know this has probably been brought up already, but it's pretty obvious in the manga that Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura are going down the same path as Orochimaru/Jiraiya/Tsunade. It'll probably end the same way, to an extent.

I dunno. I see it happening, but I sense Sasuke redeeming himself somehow and not completely ending up like Orochifag. Naruto/Jiraiya are pretty much the same without Naruto being the same level perv that Jiraiya is, and Tsunada/Sakura is fairly close too. Sakura hasn't lost people like Tsunade did, but I guess there's time for that too. I doubt they'll end up the new "Sannin" as I really do think Naruto will end up as Hokage, but not sure if it'll be Hokage after Tsunade or what. Probably will as Gaara was about the same age.

I don't really see Naruto becoming Hokage, I know it is his dream, but it just doesn't fit his character. It really does seem like they are going down the same paths as Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade.

So you see Sasuke turning into a recluse like Orochimaru and live to find new jutsus to prolong his life and all that? Maybe not exactly like that, but I dunno. I see him as a character in the need of redemption. I don't see Naruto as a travelling type, and with the deaths to come (most likely) in the coming chapters, I honestly see Naruto maturing a shit ton so he can carry the will of Jiraiya, Tsunade, probably Kakashi, and all of them. I don't think his character as is could be Hokage, but I do think his character can grow into a Hokage type. We didn't really see Gaara being a Hokage will being such a murderous crazy guy, but he did.

I do see loose connections between the Old Sannin and maybe "New" Sannin, but only loose. Meh, I like to think Naruto will get what he's wished for. I just see a somewhat happy ending... at least as happy as it can get.
