did they ever explain kakashi's backstory? how he got the sharingan, obito and rin and what part orochimaru played in it? It felt like it was hyped a bit but never got into any significant detail unless i missed it.

They explained how he got the Sharingan in Kakshi Gaiden, manga chapters 239-244.

I just got done reading the kakashi gaiden. It made me realize something.So I went back like 3chapters to were kakashi is dying and he says well this is it for me obito. When I first read it I thought kakashi figured out peins true identity, I feel pretty stupid here thinking pein was kakashi's old friend.

Re-reading kakashi gaiden, and now rereading Madara's chat with Sasuke after his fight with Itachi, I noticed that both Madara and Obito dropped a very similar "oil and water" line. I don't think it means anything, just thought it was cool:

86-87 really were exciting, I forgot how Shikamaru won so that was like experiencing it all over again, totally fucking badass.

Also, the flashback to showing Naruto in the 4th image through Kakashi's eyes was a bit of a spoiler albeit an obvious one, for non-manga readers.. Still, extremely excited about the next few episodes.

The Three-Tail arc doesn't look terrible but I'm not happy about the idea of more filler...

Well it's only half filler really. Since it was in the manga, but...only for what, 3 pages? So we all know how it ends already if you've read those three pages.

The thing that has greatly disapointed me now is the quality of the anime's animation now. I hope I'm not the only one that noticed this, and hopefully I just missed a discussion on it a few pages back or something, but the anime now looks like it's drawn poorly or colored not very well. Something about it, I don't know.

idk, but I felt starting with 84, the week before thanksgiving, the quality dropped. From the normal quality that I was used to seeing. I was hoping it was a one time thing but 85-86 was pretty much the same thing

No, they are drawn poorly when they are running out of time to complete the episode, and they fix it on DVD when fan bitch.

In Naruto's case, they probably just don't give a damn about making quality stuff, since people will watch it anyway.
