yeah, his body looks like it hasnt been used in a very long time. probably because of some ninja attack that paralyzed Nagato from neck down and killed that other boy that was with them. Nagato uses his friends body so he can remember him or some other emotional shit reason. the incident left him hating the world/war, and Konan(sp) is only there to help protect Nagato because it was the other boys last wish that she help protect him.

I think it has more to do with the fact that he looks like someone incapacitated living on life support than his actual ability. I was half expecting a complete badass who walks out from a imperturbable dimension and subsequently humiliates Naruto and the 5th hokage like a piece of cheap toy.

Pretty typical and cliche' if you ask me, especially in shounen's. I think his appearance now makes more of an impact to the audience as a whole and just helps to add to the epic feel of the fight.

Like I said, I am unimpressed by his appearance, not by what he can do. We all know he's powerful taking the leaf village by himself.

And looking like that. I think Kishi is trying to keep a "realistic" feel to the manga, even the enemies have their faults and their limits, it doesn't merely take moar power to win, etc. Which is going to lead to him being able to keep the manga around longer. If super badass ninja is actually paralyzed, just think of what some other ninja that come around may be able to do with similar levels of power and the usage of their own body...

Reason I've been using VLC over MPC or other programs was I was able to configure it to prevent the proverbial black square of death when feeding my video from my PC to my TV. I can technically do it with other programs, but it also requires me to disable DirectX through dxdiag, which kind of gets to be a pain in the ass to do. I'll tinker to see if maybe I can find a solution in other programs, but for now it's what I'd been doing.

Edit: Figured out how to do it in MPC. View > Options > Playback/Output > DirectShow Video/VMR9 (windowed) selected. Think the default was Overlay Mixer.

Ok so more information about this weeks chapter is out:

At the end of the last chapter, someone mentioned being carried on someone elses back. Ino's father figured something out. Basically he remembered back to when they were diving into the mind of one of the Pein's henchmen... if you don't remember start here and make your way thru the chapter:

Basically, they were bringing dead bodies to the highest tower in the Rain Village and one of the henchmen said something about a rumor that Pein was inside. This appears to be the tower that the dead bodies were infused with Chakara Receivers and due to the fact that it is the tallest tower in the Rain Village, Nagato is able to send a very strong signal to the Pein Bodies. So basically the team figures that in order for the Pein Bodies to get the best signal, the actual body (Nagato) Needs to be in close range at the highest point, so they come to the realization that Pein's actual location has the be the highest point in Konoha which they believe would be one of the mountains.

It would mean that this tower is the place where they create Pain bodies by embedding those black stakes-like receivers into dead bodies
Shikamaru: So what is the connection with the position of the real body?
Ino dad: To transmit the chakra signals, the most efficient place is... To transmit as far away as possible, he had to be in the tallest tower
Anbu: I see... which means
Ino dad: Pain's real body is on the highest place of Konoha...
Shikamaru: All right! Let's investigate thoroughly tall places
