Deidara is the man!
and np lol
For those of you who read 360, perhaps you can explain something to me:
[SPOILERS]
On page 11, Deidera closes his eyes and opens his left eye. As he does, his left eye shrinks (which later we find out is related to his genjutsu training), but afterward he still proclaims that he wins. Is this supposed to be a trick/lure for Sasuke?
Next page, SHARINGAN'D... Sasuke comes from behind etc etc. On the final page, he explains that he trained his left eye and we get a flashback. The center panel shows Deidera hidden inside his bird with his clone above him. Now, if he was in the bird the whole time, was he even hit by the genjutsu in the first place? If yes, what's the significance of showing that his clone opened its left eye and understood it was a genjutsu? If no, again it was his clone using its left eye to notice genjutsu which seems pointless.
Basically, if it was a clone the whole time, why so much emphasis on it opening the left eye instead of Deidera himself.
Edit: To add, personally I would have understood it better if not for the center panel showing Deidara hidden inside the bird. If it was not there, one could assume that following the showing of his left eye he had hidden himself and left a clone. Either that or if they placed the panel of him in the bird after showing his left eye so it seems he hid afterward.
I believe the answer lies with going back to what Kakashi told Naruto when he went into training. When you release your clone, all information from that clone comes back to you. So when Deidara releases the clone he will know if Genjutsu was used in the attack and have a better grasp of what is going on.
Yeah, I assumed that whole thing was what Eaglestrike said. Sometimes I have a hard time following fights in manga though, I much prefer to watch the anime for fights, so who knows. It'll probably be explained in 361 anyway.
I don't know if anyone noticed this, but on the last page in the center frame when Deidara grabs Sasuke's leg, if you look at his left eye he has that weird scouter thing. I think they screwed up and drew it there on accident cuz he pretty much didn't have that the whole fight except for at that one moment. Just a fun fact!
Doesn't look like it to me, just looks like the shading under and around his eye is a bit overdone.
Hmm, true. I guess I could be wrong, it's just cuz the shading is done to look kinda rectangular and his eye looks super intense.Originally Posted by Ivaden
I suppose that's an acceptable answer and one I'll have to go along with if nothing further is said in 361 about it.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike
Yeah. His scope/camera thing on his eye takes up quite a bit of his face too iirc, like half of his cheek.Originally Posted by Girl
Anyway, they did focus quite a bit on his eye and the fact that it was open while the other was closed, so I'm thinking maybe he has his own jutsu that counters genjutsu from a Sharingan, by using his left eye? Maybe that's why he has his eye covered up all the time or something, either with his hair and/or the camera. Not sure how it would work, but I've seen more confusing things in the manga so I wouldn't be surprised lol. Also didn't he say something like he had been training since the day he met Itachi to not be caught in the Sharingan genjutsu again? I would think an Akatsuki member wouldn't need to train on how to use his clones to gather information like Kakashi finally told Naruto he could do.
The situation where Deidara first showed us his left eye and thanking Itachi before being struck by Sasuke was in fact the real Deidara imo.
I read it as this:
- Deidara reveals his left eye and thanks Itachi for letting him experience this genjutsu. When he saw Sasuke "dying," he figured that there was a high chance that it was all genjutsu, hence him using his left eye to make sure. When his eye revealed that it was in fact a genjutsu he quickly replaced himself with a clone before Sasuke could notice. (It's apparent that unlike what Sasuke claimed in the Anime, The sharingan cannot see through clones) Sasuke then appears behind the clone Deidara, thinking it's the real one and does his I'm so cool I didn't kill you bit, only to have Deidara take advantage of his cockiness.
And as far as what Kakashi said to Naruto. Knowledge returning to the original user is only specific to Kagebunshin. Its the reason Kakashi said that made Kagabunshin so usefull for recon missions. Don't confuse that for other bunshin jutsus like Yamato's mokuton bunshin that actually allows him to keep an "uplink" and see/know everything his clone is doing at the time (not to mention the whole fusion thing he does with it which i think is cool)
The thing is that the flashback shows Deidera hidden in the bird before opening his left eye. I'd understand him performing the switch with his clone after realizing it was genjutsu, but the flashback implies otherwise.Originally Posted by Blazer
