Seriously whats up with Yamato showing up out of no where. He disappears right after the Sauske/Itachi battle telling the group to go ahead and then isn't heard from again, and suddenly makes an appearance next chapter... What in the world has he been up to for the past 40+ Chapters???

I found it. All are Chuunin except naruto, Neji the sand guy and temari are Jounin.

My confusion was that Shikimaru is an EXAMINER, it's been so long I thought that when he said "I'm a _____" it was Examiner and not Jounin.

I never understood how the rank system works for ninjas. Naruto is probably THE most powerful ninja in the village and will be hokage in the near future, why is he still a lowly ranked ninja? He's been on enough missions, was trained by one of the three legendary ninjas, fought and killed some of most notorious pariahs from other villages, and is bestowed with the talent to use natural and demonic energy. Now he's singlehandedly saving the village from pain. What more can we ask for before he's promoted to a higher rank?
