better not be ending, it's just getting good again after some period of stagnation/sasuke bullshit.

holy fuck did he really just take that blast up close like that and have only half his cloak ripped?
edit: nevermind just look like the blast hit the ground instead
Well he can still help kill Tobi who is the mastermind of the entire Arc. Also pain destroying Konoha renders Sasuke useless since his only objective left was to revenge his brother by destroying the village and killing the head of ANBU. If the finale of this Arc is a three way battle between Sasuke, Naruto and Tobi, you know this is gonna be over soon.
Feels like both Naruto and Bleach are ending, but no way they will be allowed to.
can only assume both sides are held under a contract. and when one wants out, they just dont sign next time the opportunity arises
YES!!!!!!!!! My Hinata's alive!!!
oh babygirl you best be alive till sakura heals you
6tails is pretty fucking pimp too, wtf at taking shinra head on damnnn
What they did with Kakashi was a little ridiculous, he had fucking 3 death scenes.
Fucked up thing is he really could still be alive.
Odds are Hinata will be largely ignored until the end of the event. They'll have a token 'code blue, code blue' scene, but it's not like Pain will run all the way back to Konoha to stick another pike in her.
Just because the village has been flattened doesn't mean Sasuke is suddenly without purpose. There's still the architects of the Uchiha slaughter to reckon with, in the form of the village elders, Danzo, and who knows how many Fire country officials. Everyone involved in the Uchiha massacre is a potential target.
As for the series ending, who knows? There are any number of plot threads that could be resolved, even after a showdown with Madara, Pain, and Sasuke. There's still Team Samui, there's still the wandering Killer Bee, the as-yet-unresolved feelings Hinata has for Naruto, Kakashi's fate, and I'm still curious as to what Naruto's second elemental affinity is, something I hope is explored.
So, a showdown with the antagonists of this arc don't spell the end. Who knows? We might see another time jump.
GT was weak because Akira Toriyama had no part in it, he was done after DBZ. If it's Masashi Kishimoto doing the follow up, then yeah, I'd love to see how things shape up in the future.
Whether it does or doesn't, all I'm saying is that it doesn't have to end here, because there actually is more story that can be pursued.
There were no loose ends at the end of DBZ. GT was just a cash in with shitty, contrived plots.
Anyway, there's no reason to think the end of the manga is coming. Even if they beat Pain, and then even if they confront Madara immediately after, there's still gallons of exposition and power ups to go through. Madara is a super ninja, gotta figure out his mad skillz, that's 10 chapters, easy. Then the fight, that's another 10 chapters. I mean, didn't the chasing Sasuke arc take like 3-4 volumes to finish?
Personally, I think this is leading up to the start of a new Ninja War. The weakness of Leaf and the Raikage calling a meeting of the Kages will get everyone riled up. Sand will obviously come to support Leaf, but the Mizukage has been revealed to be Madara. Also, though they've been mostly quiet for the entirety of the comic, Rock country has one of the oldest grudges with Fire. I expect Fire/Wind vs. Water/Rock, Lightning being a wildcard.
Interesting to think about, considering that Tsunade might not last much longer, the title of Hokage might be up for grabs.
With Danzo at the helm, war is in the cards for sure, but an almost-fully-realized Naruto taking the lead(I know it's unlikely, bear with me), a war might be a great test of his fitness for the position, his convictions, and his status as the "destined child."
I see Naruto going on for at least another 2 years. There's waaaaaaaaaay too many things left unresolved between killer bee, madara, killer bee's brother team, sasuke and his team, reappointing a new hokage if Tsunade dies here, Danzo, Orochimaru, finding out what(if anything at all) Itachi gave to Naruto
i agree. Kishi probably knows how the story will go from here and even how it will end, but i think it will take a couple years just to get through it all
What I really like is the fact that Kishi really does seem to have an outline of the overall plot. For the most part, every new plot element introduced falls into place perfectly creating a grand scheme of one complete story. As far as Hinata goes, I can still see her dying. Perhaps after this battle in the arms of a conscious Naruto to have more of a closure feeling to her death.
Nah, she's already had her 'how do I love thee' moment (right before she got hit), having another before she dies would be pointless. Either she'll live to start ACTUALLY interacting with Naruto, instead of just fighting or feinting, or she'll die by the time he's done.
I'm expecting the former; as the reader, we've known she's loved him for years. Big. Fucking. Deal. What was the purpose of saying that? She could have just as easily come to his rescue without saying anything. More to the point, he could have gone SSJ with practically anyone being killed in front of him. So why Hinata and why now? To bring closure to the character? That's all well and good, but unlike everyone else who's dead right now, the reader has no reason to care that Hinata wouldn't be around anymore. Until this point, she has not been important to the plot.
So why should she be important? To create a new plot point. To introduce a new element into the series. Naruto hasn't had to deal with real love before. He's peeped on bath houses and talks about going on dates with Sakura, but he's obviously not serious about it. This girl confessed her love and is interested in pursuing a real relationship with the twit. Dump that in a kid's lap and he has no choice but to really think about it....unless the source of that affection disappears. If Hinata dies, there was no point to any of this. Her death would have amounted to little more than shock value and an opportunity for character development will have been missed. Basically, if she dies, she may as well have not died and instead faded into the background, like whoever the Hell her keeper is.
