Maybe his Clay Clone (which I'm assuming it is because that's generally what kind of clone someone uses) works similarly to a Kage Bunshin mixed with Gaara's Eye jutsu (don't know the name) so he can see exactly what his clone is seeing while hidden, I suppose like Yamato's bunshin works.

could it be as simple as him hiding in the bird was part of his original technique ? he hid in the bird with or without knowing the outcome.. but the fact that he trained his left eye, he could now tell if it was sasuke actually dying or not. he did switch with his clay clone before sasuke used his technique, to be safe. and used his left eye to counter the genjutsu. which would have affected him anyway. we dont kow how his left eye technique works or how long it takes to counter.

It's just a joke. A lot of people don't know that a show isn't airing a certain week (even if the previous episode said so) so they mess with people saying for x or y reason you won't get Naruto this week. As someone mentioned, they always tag it with YHBT (You have been trolled) so that smart people know the truth.

I was getting well over 100kb/s and there was only 3 people that had beat me to the torrent - at the start anyway, went out to get sushi about 5min into download (alone )

Still not enough fighting, there was just as much talk about Team Gai's enemies as fighting. Granted, there was more talk than fighting in the manga (they didn't really show much fighting) but come on. Next episode looks like it might cover a bit because what the preview mentioned didn't happen until like halfway through the fight (from what I can remember from whenever the manga came out).

Hiruko (Sasori's favorite puppet to be inside) gets destroyed pretty early on after the first sequence of fighting. Then Sasori comes out and the real fight begins. The preview shows Hiruko shooting out all the needles and stuff, so I would bet they plan to squeeze at least 3 episodes out of this.

Really sucks about the anime skipping a week just when it's about to get good. =/

Well, they can extend the fight many episodes because they can still show Team Gai's team fighting and Naruto and Kakashi staring at Deidara.
