Ma/Pa had to do a reverse summon with the scroll, Naruto just appeared as fox, so maybe it's because while he was in the ball he was "standing still or whatever" + the sheer amount of chakra the frog leaked = instant sage?

Well, we have to ask ourselves how much time really passed.

The kyubi could have been dispelled, and in the time it took for the smoke to clear, Naruto could have chilled and gathered sage chakra--he certainly did it quick enough when being held in place by Gakudo Pain, no reason he wouldn't this time.



I've another theory, but it questions the nature of biju chakra. The kyubi chaka is said to have a sinister presence, but what sort of chakra is it? Is it the type usually associated with humans, is it a unique, demonic/supernatural form of chakra, or is biju chakra identical to sage chakra? Since biju are naturally occurring phenomina, the third option might fit, but they could easily be some sort of supernatural form of chakra as well.

If biju chakra bears a similarity to sage chakra, the excess from the dispelled kyubi might have been all Naruto needed to take Sage Mode again.

Wish granted. Most Japanese anime/manga rehash the same quintessential romance plots. Almost all protagonists end up with a girl who is shy and has trouble professing her feeling but will believe in the protagonist no matter what. The girl will usually be attacked and put on the blink of death, giving the protagonist the resolute he needs to finish off the antagonist. Then they will live happily ever after.

One was used up after the rasengan fest, and we never saw what happened to the last, as Pein stabbed him full of receptors. This should just be the sage chakra of the last clone finally being absorbed.

hate super obivous foreshadowing the "Chasing a certain someone...." was a dead give away of what was going to happen in terms of the moved used I just hope the next chapter isn't some lecture on friendship and you learn the most when chasing after friends and so on and etc

It would've disrupted the accumulation, sure. But he couldn't have absorbed the sage chakra immediately, as he can't be drawing from natural sources and the kyuubi at the same time. This is proven by the fact that when he first tries to absorb the toads for their special technique training, he is unable to do so because the nine-tails is well... greedy, and doesn't like to share.

Also, I don't think range has much to do with him absorbing the chakra from the clones. Remember when he first learned from Kakashii that he could use them to gather information, their clones walked waaaay off into the woods to make sure they didn't know exactly what it was their clones were doing.

I'm kinda just rambling at this point, as it's Friday, and I get off work in about an hour. Huzzah.

There was no scroll involved here which contradicts how he gets into sage mode. I'm thinking because of how much Chakra was involved with an 8tail, plus the fact that he was in the ball and inside his mind with all that energy for a little while, that he was able to transform. It doesn't make sense that he'd be able to pull that clone back to himself, he would have had to go into sage mode on his own.

There shouldn't be a way for him to have absorbed that other clones chakra... i.e. unless they explain it better, if naruto were to go get the scroll he probably could summon another sage mode lol. I don't care if there is a loophole, but him going into sage mode shouldn't have to do with his clone in the frogmountain. Even Pain was shocked by him going sage mode without summoning, he had to do it himself in the ball possibly involving Kyuubi/Minato-talk/Rage dbz SSJ style. That clone is a SIGNIFICANT distance away, especially since they have to reverse summon to get it there. Naruto had to go sage without it somehow inside the ball. It's possible he wasn't moving in there etc and because of what happened with his talk just was able to gather chakra or find a "chakra reserve" in himself to go into it quicker. Regardless if 8tails doesn't like to share, it's possible because of all the emotions going on (met his dad, found out things, reminded of villagers, hinata) that he got greedy and used the fox for it somehow... which opens doors. Pain himself also said something about learning to use the fox already, maybe Naruto stepped something up kinda like bee.

Also: Can we please stop posting your drawings? Some are funny and good (minato/ceiling ones), we can stick to those, but random ones are kinda... yeah discussion thread not look@my hinata thread.

anyway, the way i saw it was that he went into sage mode on his own, and it showed that there were no clones left for back up. but it could have easily meant the clones disappeared and he gained chakra from that, really it doesnt explain it wither way

I don't think distance has anything to do with clone absorption. The only reason they summoned the first one is because Naruto can't dispel his clones on his own. I don't think he's ever released a clone in the entire series. So he can't just mentally go, "OK, pop clone1, I need chakra," they need to actually summon the clone and tell it to release itself, or smack it or something. Even if Naruto can release clones at range, he'd probably pop all of them at once, which is obviously not something he wants to do.

Can naruto transform the clones with natural energy into shurikens and carry them around? Whenever he needs energy he can just restore and absorb it.

Probably but he's already stated that it takes a lot to maintain them and hes limited in what he can do while maintaining them.
