It's possible the slug jumped off when she felt the Kyuubi chakra coming and then just came back when he returned. Technically it wasn't shown at any point when the Kyuubi was around and didn't re-appear until he was back on the ground.

they are really pushing the manga in america lately. for the last month or so, every week, I saw a new volume. last new one I saw was Vol41. today I saw Vol 42, 43 and 44. thats what? only like 1 or 2 volumes behind the japanese now?

It's kinda weirdly positioned.Unless during the course of that fight one of the people nearby had a 10 foot tall cock and it was sliced/ripped off while erect and Naruto then proceeded to use it as a bo staff my brain really isnt able to thnk of that as a penis. He was fighting Guren, and he picked up a piece of her crystal off the ground and blocked her crystal arm blade jutsu, was a cool fight, he lucky she didn't use "Crystal Style: Crystal Prison" or w/e, then he'd be dead meat.

He almost hit her with an Odama Rasengan (used two clones to carry the rasengan), but the expandable guy came and punched him (saved Guren), and Yamato restrained him.
