Well, a friend actually suggested it to me a while back and pointed out the coincidential "evidence" that he could be, that's why I said "going with the idea." There's some obvious similarities (the hair, attitude) and the fact that Tobi survived that sword strike from Sasuke, some people attributed that to however Obito may have survived the boulder.

Makes sense to me, but I'm not preaching it one way or the way, so don't take it that way in that earlier post.

I don't think it's Obito on the basis that Obito was a good kid, he was the Naruto equivalent in that team. Why would he have "switched sides" and joined Akatsuki? Why would he have never returned to Konoha? That doesn't really make sense, I'd need a good explanation to believe it's Obito.

Obito pretty much accepted death and told them to stop trying to save him (from how I remember it), then chose to give Kakashi his eye. Don't think there's anything for him to really be bitter about.

Yeah I questioned this too. My friend who was so convinced that Obito = Tobi said that he's just a spy. Afterall he is a relatively new member, and Jiraiya seems to have a lot of information about the Akatsuki. Could very well be that someone (Tobi) was feeding him the information.

Edit: Of course my friend isn't preaching this to be truth, he's not retarded, just making convenient connections.

i remember the whole scene vividly. it's not beyond human nature to have a change of heart though (even though it's a comic, still) he could have gotten sour about it

i'm not making serious predictions about it anyways. if i had to geuss if it was someone i'd say it was obito, but if it wasn't i wouldn't be all bent out of shape about it lol
