Sage mode: I'd think it would be tough for Naruto if he is just thrown into a fight. If he knows he's going into a fight, he can prep it the same way he did against Pain. Though it may be possible for him to discretely send some clones away from a battle to gather energy while he keeps the enemy busy to buy some time.

Yeah see I just don't want this to end up to be what we saw with Rasenshuriken to an extent. He learns this awsome technique and is told never to use it again (Though he can now handle it in sage mode). I'd hate for Naruto to have this kick ass mode and we don't get to see it again due to complications of gathering natural energy.

i'm not sure about just sending some clones off to hide. doesn't he need to have them sit in the fountain? it probably requires too much concentration to have multiple clones in sage mode

didn't he do it on the fly when he fought pain? after going through his sage clones, that is.

Kinda sorta. He insta got into it when he suppressed the Kyuubi's chakra. At least that's how I read it.

Since it's been said that he can learn really quickly it wouldn't surprise me if in the future he can go sage mode quickly and easily based on him learning something.

He also sort of entered Sennin mode when held in that full nelson by Gakido-Pain, rather, he gathered the senjutsu chakra for Gakido to absorb and turn into a petrified frog.

Bottom line is that while it did take him some time, it wasn't a whole lot. I can see Naruto using kage bunshin to hold off opponents while the original gathers the energy, or something to that extent.

he can gather natural chakra only while standing still. which isnt great for fighting. it is great for turning your opponent into a pretrified frog when they have you immobilized however.

Well I think it depends on how fast he can enter Sage mode. If he can do it in a matter of say 10 seconds, he could create a clone, and then using his real self charge at the enemy as a distraction while the other clone is gathering energy. This could work because if he sends the clone out while his real self gathers energy, the enemy would be probably be smart enough to go after the real person and not the clone.

Still, I wonder if Naruto will do some training to learn how to keep his clone out for extended periods of time. It somewhat reminds me of DBZ where Goku and Gohan stayed in SSJ mode while not in battle so they got used to it and didn't have to exhaust so much energy to reach that mode. If he can keep a clone out for extended periods of time of say 1 month straight, he can always send a clone via reverse summoning to gather energy before the start of a mission and then carry the scroll with him, though I don't know how he'd keep the clone out while he is sleeping lol.

I'm still thinking Killer Bee will end up training Naruto how to take control of the 9 tails.
that way he can just have the frongs sit on his shoulder like Jaraiya.
or Naruto will just use his ability to learn and do things people who were better than him have never done, and beable to gather natural energy and move at the same time.

I've been anticipating a meeting between Killer Bee and Naruto going down the same way. The only roadblock I see is that the kyubi just seems naturally malevolent--Naruto may not be able to ever come to terms with it because it may be just a natively mean-spirited creature. However, if this isn't the case, then there's a chance.

I've also imagined that instead of needing kage bunshin or toad assistance, Naruto could learn to use the kyubi as a medium for senjutsu chakra.

After all, senjutsu chakra is natural energy, and the kyubi is a big mass of naturally occurring, sentient chakra. Also, Fukasaku informed Naruto that all he'd need is a second body to remain still and gather that energy, and who better than the beast that Naruto's been carrying since infancy?

Of course, this all assumes that Naruto can come to terms with the kyubi. But if he can, I forsee him using it for more than just a super saiya-jin transformation.

Does Sasuke actually know Danzou is now hokage, or is he expecting Tsunade to be there? I don't remember him becoming aware, unless it's in this chapter.

I thought that too, that it's incredibly stupid of him to just waltz into a summit of the Kages and attempt an assassination. But at this point I think he wants his actions to be made in public to attempt to bring some of the things from Konoha's past can be brought to light.

How does learning that everything that has happened has aided Madara's plan (whatever it is) render the recent events pointless? It's not like Madara's plan called specifically for Naruto to kill Nagato, etc etc... it's just that apparently Naruto inadvertently made Madara's plan much more achievable and able to go forward at a quicker pace. Seems interesting enough to me. Makes me curious as to what he had initially planned to use Nagato for, and what he plans to use Sasuke for.
