It seems the anime isn't planning to stick to the manga storyline. They added filler with Zabuza's sword not being at his gravesite so Suigetsu and Sasuke have to find it.

It's only filler in this episode as they do find the sword at the end and head for Karin. I don't know how much filler they'll add regarding Karin and Jugo. It's just that I was expecting after the whole filler arc that just ended, they could stick moreso to the manga for a while.

That's what I thought too. The Anime is about 110 chapters behind the manga and usually there is a large separation between anime and manga. The Sauske vs Deidara fight should come up quickly after Jugo is found and then after that I am sure they'll throw in a filler that leads up to the Sauske vs Itachi fight.

Interesting chapter. Naruto going to meet the 8-tails (if he can be found) while Madara possibly goes after Naruto? And Sasuke going after the Kage's...I don't see him capable of taking out all 5 kages with his team though.

Oh man, what a chapter. This settles a lot of my previous questions.

I previously suspected that Sasuke knew Killer Bee had gotten away(and perhaps let him)--this chapter proved me wrong.

Kankuro's comment at the end settles my questions about Gaara's remaining powers. It seems he retains his control of sand even in the absence of the ichibi.

I'd suspected there was more going on with Madara than it appeared, I'm not convinced he's really "alive" as we think of it. I'm itching to know what happened to him in the days after his fight with the Shodaime.

Naruto's diplomacy in assuaging team Samui's fears was a golden point for me. Since he went to Myobokuzan, his growth into "Hokage material" has been exponential. The old Naruto would not have been able to settle that argument without a shout and lots more fighting.

And Sasuke assassinating all five Kages? Gimme a break. That one's gonna be a riot to watch.

In all, I thought that it was a rather suspenseful bridge chapter, I'm looking forward to seeing things come to a head... again.

The only thing with Garaa now is his sand won't protect him automatically. He may still be able to do the same things but now he might tire faster as his sand shield will rely on his strength to use. Possibly his chakra levels are lower now since his demon is gone.

Wow I am so pumped to see Naruto go off and find the 8-tails. I cannot wait for the anime to catch up to the manga, shit is getting so good lately I just want to see it animated. Sasuke is such a tool though, why does he need to kill every Kage and not just Danzou, seriously. Madara getting serious is curious too, I wonder if he's going to go after Naruto or the 8-tails directly, either way you can suspect he'll run into the both of them at once and it'll be a very interesting scenario depending on whether the 8-tails has talked to Naruto about controlling his host, etc. The 8-tails and Naruto discussing controlling the 9-tails is an inevitability really, it's just a matter of how much and when the talking will go on.

It seems that Sasuke wanting to kill all the kages was a mistranslation (at least that's the word on Groupbox now); if I can find a script of the spoiler I'll post it later.

I really enjoyed the chapter but everytime Sasuke says something dramatic I can't help but 'lol'. There's a closeup on his face and then he says something completely fucking crazy and retarded.

These two things mainly from me. When he had his tailed-beast extracted, I had assumed this meant he lost his sand manipulation completely. Considering he's still carrying around that goard, it seems he still has that power. Which is good considering the future chapters, as I'd like to see him involved at least briefly in the upcoming fight at the kage summit.

And Naruto's growth from the prior arc has been one of my favorite things as well, and is what makes me scratch my head whenever I see someone say that the arc was useless or pointless. Thanks to what happened not only are we seeing a stronger Naruto, but we're finally seeing a Naruto that is finally (as you said) growing into Hokage material.

Other topics/things I'm looking forward to:

Though I did find it funny, I understand why Sakura would start crying. Throughout everything that's happened, she and Naruto have held on to the belief that Sasuke could eventually be brought back and redeemed. Of course she's gonna break down a bit when she learns that he's attacked a village and joined the group that not only is after Naruto, but was also responsible for the destruction of her home. Personally, I like the fact that Sasuke is becoming less and less redeemable.

If not a mistranslation, it's gonna be fun seeing Sasuke try to kill off all of the kages. Dunno what the hell he's thinking if he is actually planning on this.

And it'll be interesting to see who finds Killerbee first... Naruto or Kisame.
