really? maybe Danzou is Obito in some form or another? i mean i guess it would explain the crushed arm from the rocks or whatever. but I still think Danzou is Madara's brother.

whatever. there's like four sharingan floating around now, previously five, I'm not surprised anymore. anyone with a hidden eye has a sharingan, can we just make that a rule?

I can't see any way that Danzo = Obito. I mean, it's not like Obito and Kakashi were on bad terms at the time of Obito's death... in fact, they had just come to understand one another. If Obito were alive, there'd be no reason why he wouldn't seek out Kakashi afterward.

If we assume Obito is somehow involved, my theory is that Danzo's sharingan is actually Obito's other eye. After Kakashi, Rin etc. returned to the village, Konoha sent out ninja to investigate the scene of Obito's death. They recover his body, and miraculously his other eye is still salvageable. Danzo, seeing that Kakashi was able to have an eye successfully transplanted, secretly takes the eye and has it implanted into himself.

Now I think that's not likely at all, like I said it's just assuming that there's some connection between Danzo and Obito. Personally, I think he just had it transplanted in from some random Uchiha after the massacre or something.

Also, I don't think Danzo is an Uchiha (which rules out him being Madara, Madara's brother, etc). I personally believe he had the eye covered up for the same reason as Kakashi, in that he can't turn the sharingan off since he's not a true Uchiha.

I really doubt that Danzou is Obito; I'm really thinking he has Obito's or a random Uchiha's eye, possibly taken from one of the corpses from the Uchiha massacre. The latter seems like it would make sense, since anbu/root were most likely involved in the clean-up of that.

But from the way things are going, what Ratatapa said is just as likely. >_>

pretty awesome chapter. nice to read the final translation; the bit about where Kakashi tells Sai that he helped Naruto because he feels a friendship that goes against the rules was good. basically it's Sai's job to be Naruto's enemy of sorts (danzo wants him to keep tabs on him for root's purposes) but he still considers him a friend, like Sasuke is enemy to the village but Naruto and Sakura still consider him a friend.

it's also nice that Kakashi can finally be open with Naruto's lineage, haha.
