Hyuuga incident:

5-ish year old Hinata was being kidnapped be a guy from the Raikage's village. Neji's father's twin brother killed the kidnapper, and the Raikage demanded that the person who killed the guy from his village be executed(since they had no evidence he was trying to kidnap Hinata or something retarded like that). Neji's father took the fall for it to save his brother.

Just clarifying, since I remember that very well for some reason.

They are animating the Kakashi Gaiden arc which should be pretty cool. It looked like well drawn animation so I suspect they've been working on it slowly making sure it looks nice.

Might start next week? I can't read japanese but I didn't see any numbers so I don't think they announced a date.

Thanks for the clarification on the Hyuga clan incident. As far as Naruto being respected, I don't think anyone really knows about Pein yet honestly. Also, the Pein intelligence was really limited, I think Konoha was the only village with intelligence of who he actually was really, right?

I was disappinted with Naruto's persuasive skills this chapter. It felt like his conversation with Pain had more impact than his simply begging the Raikage. Although, it did set up Yamato and Kakashi's mention of the Hyuga incident. It would have been nice if they had simply said "You owe us one."

I was growing fond of the Raikage, but his blasé dismissal of an incident his village instigated seemed boorish, but then, it sort of paints his outlook on diplomacy. He seems like the type to welcome a war.

Good chapter I thought.

Naruto's speech no jutsu (or beg no jutsu in this case) has no effect on the Raikage, which I like because I really do want Sasuke to suffer some sort of punishment for what he's done. Also, I account Naruto's begging to being completely desperate and knowing full well how absurd his request would seem to the Raikage.

And man they really like to tease the pairings don't they? First Hinata's confession, and now we get Naruto basically admitting to Sai that he likes Sakura, and he made that admission after Hinata's confession had taken place. Poor Hinata.

And yeah, I take it that not too many really know about Pain and especially don't know who exactly killed him. Samui and gang only came to realize that Naruto beat him because they were actually in Konoha. Doesn't surprise me that other ninja from other villages don't know about Naruto's victory yet.

All in all, I want the kage consensus to keep with the pursuit of Sasuke and Akatsuki. Doing so means more conflict for Naruto and just in general, which can't be a bad thing.

And gah, there goes my fun with my Danzo/Naruto mix-up theory.

As for the Hyuuga incident, I thought it was Hinata's father that killed the kidnapper. Then when the Cloud demanded that they be given the killer (basically just as another way to obtain the Byagukan), his twin brother (Neji's dad) offered to take his place not only to save his brother's life, but also since his Byakugan would be sealed away upon his death due to the curse mark of the branch famiily.

I'm confused. While I think the chapter and the big talk was good, and the Naruto bowing down so easily was bad.. I don't get what the point of mentioning Naruto liking Sasuke and Sai going to Sakura has anything at all to do with this chapter. Sure I get the whole promise thing, but what else?

Honestly, I'm not into the whole 'shipping' movement outside of Shikamaru and Temari, since they seem to be the only pair that show anything remotely close to feelings for one another... but I admit that if Naruto did finally get the girl, that it would be pretty awesome. Even if Sakura is an annoying bitch most of the times, she hasn't been too bad in the second half of the series. I do like how her and Naruto have bonded over time, so if it were to happen, I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. Part of me, though, feels as if Naruto may die by the end of the Manga or something. D: If he doesn't die, that'd be awesome. If he does survive, and Kishi does end up having characters get paired off, if he ended up with Hinata (which is one-sided so far), or Sakura (which is also one-sided), I wouldn't care. I'd be like "Oh, that's cool."

So eh. I just didn't get the purpose of bringing it up in this chapter. Didn't feel as if it served any purpose.

Just part of Sai's progression I guess. Realizing that Naruto is basically trying to shoulder everything on his own, and in doing so pushing aside anything that might make him happy until all of the problems are solved. Sai just seems to be taking it upon himself to try and help Naruto a bit.

Personally if there's gonna be a pairing, I'd rather see Naruto and Hinata. Naruto/Sakura seems more like a brother/sister relationship to me.

Sasuke changed its name from snake to hawk after the Itachi encounter if I'm not mistaken.

They stopped or something, I didn't realize how much I liked dattebayo until they were gone. Luckily I found a replacement for now, but it's only a matter of time until they randomly stop like HorribleSubs did, I'm sure.
