Also, Naruto and Sakura ending up together would just parallel Jiraiya/Tsunade even more, as cheesy and obvious as that is. I can see it happening even if we all don't want it to :/

Naruto for President. :/
At least she tried to do something when it mattered other than stand there any cry and make problems?Hinata is so pathetic
This chapter was really interesting for the reasons that have been pointed out already. I wonder how Danzo is going to be taken down now that he's been handed the ninja world.
btw is it just me that had a little tear when obito died till the end?![]()
I teared up when he said he thought Kakashi's dad was a true hero and the famous line from one of the first episodes (which I guess is where Kakashi got it from) "Ninja's who don't follow the rules are scum, but ones that abandon their friends are worse than scum."
The end scene with rin when kakashi said that obito loved her made me cry a bit, Rin is cute even if i don't like her hair color lol, seems like a bleached brown
It made me get really tight in the eyes, almost teared up. It was very moving for some reason.
Fucking awesome chapter.
Kage discussion was great. Gaara kinda putting the other kages in their place at the start was sweet. And not sure if I remember correctly, but isn't the guy they showed as the 4th Mizukage the same guy that they showed as the jinchuuriki of the 3-tails?
Loved Danzo's mini-"just as planned" moment, with his thinking "And the Tsunade era ends" before they even make the suggestion for who will lead the alliance. He's so evil and devious, and I love it.
Yeah, you'd think Gaara would mention something once they all start talking about how they have to "guide" Naruto. Eh, maybe next chapter?
As for Sakura, my take on her "shock" is due to now realizing the extent that Naruto is going to in order to keep the promise. Before this, she's only witnessed frustration and anger from Naruto due to it (going 4-tails against Orochimaru). Now she knows that he's willing getting the hell beat out of him in order to keep it. My take is that she's always known that he likes her, but now she realizes that he loves her so much that he'd put himself through almost anything to keep that promise, and as such she is ending up being a much bigger burden on him than she ever wanted to be.
Sai is fucking awesome for laying this all out for Sakura though. About time that she is forced to take some sort of action about the whole Sasuke thing. Methinks this will end with her just telling Naruto to forget about the promise, and not worry so much about bringing Sasuke back. I just really don't want it to end with a Naruto/Sakura pairing, since it'll just seem like she's "settling" for her second choice.
Finally... LOL at the Sasuke/Sakura crying comparisons. Holy shit they look identical.
Also...if Sakura were to go to Naruto and tell him to forget about the promise...I don't think he'd just say "ok". He's going to do it anyway.
I don't see the big deal with the crying, same artist, no surprise certain emotions are displayed the same![]()
tbh i think that sakura had some kind of feeling for naruto for a little while, if you remember Shippuden episode 1, she did blush alot and try to show Naruto how much she was more womanly, and keep saying that neruto looked more adult. (before the Harem no justsu v2)
But anyway, i do hope that Gaara shit things up, or he try to make himself the alliance leader, Gaara kept saying he owes alot to naruto, so if he was the one to guide him it would be a good sign of friendship.
As for Sasuke, he will become Raigake one day (jk but) nah i just hope he become less emo, personally i liked sasuke more when he was a kid then now
Oh, I know he'd still continue his quest to get his Sasuke-kun back. I just think that this would be the route that Sakura would most likely go. It seems most likely that she'd tell him to forget about it in order to try and alleviate the enormous burden that the promise placed on him, while at the same time not bringing up all the mushy crap.
i dont get it, sorta. who was it that hired akatsuki in their village? all i know is they mightve hired them because they didnt receive help from raikage? or something
and its been a while, but did gaara get the beast out of him 100%? if so, wouldnt that make him considerably weaker? not like it matters, we all know he was a beast regardless, but im just curious.
I believe what they were saying is that the Sand hired Akatsuki (Orochimaru + Sand vs Konoha) in at least that known instance. There probably is more but they didn't go into excessive details since we the readers don't know about a lot of the past wars.
And I had a theory about how strong Gaara might be posted earlier. Basically he'll lose his "absolute defense" that protects him without him even being aware, but otherwise should be stronger and only lose his "chakra out of the ass" ability. This is because a hosts chakra is constantly fighting off the beasts chakra, if you take the beast out then you no longer have a lot of your chakra used up containing/fighting the beast.
As far as Sakura 'settling for her second choice', honestly.. I think Sakura has this big giant schoolgirl crush on Sasuke and just wants to help him feel better. I don't know if she's really 'in love' or anything. It's really confusing, honestly. Also, if Sasuke turns out to be the bad guy, she'll probably witness it first hand.
Here's the thing. Kishi's done so much shit lately, that there's like fifteen-twenty paths he could take right now, when earlier.. there weren't as many. There's so much he could pull from his ass and have it be okay.. and I think he's done a good job in not making it predictable, unlike another series.
This on both accounts. I'll just add that I think it's pretty much implied that the Tsuchikage used Akatsuki's services, since he knew so much about what Raikage was saying and mentioned that they "deliver excellent results." And yeah, I pretty much agree with that assessment of Gaara's current powers.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike

I smiled on the inside seeing Sakura crying with that last line Sai dropped.
I think Gaara is probably stronger than he was before, even without his perfect defense.
Also, I'd love for Sakura to witness first-hand how ruthless Sasuke is now, just to put the final nail in the coffin. That'd really make my day. But knowing Kishi they'll probably have some little conversation and he'll just destroy her with the usual, "you're still a child if you're clinging to these ideals, there's no room for kindness or weakness in this world, blah blah blah. </SamuraiSlicin'>"
I dunno.
Hmm.. Kankuro has a new puppet if anyone noticed..
He seems a lot more evil.. You know why?
THIS PUPPET RESEMBLES SASORI ! ! !
You see the flamethrowers coming out of his hand?
Spoiler: show
Or I may be crazy. either way pretty interesting thing I noticed.
Btw still from Kakashi gaiden, i'm happy that they used some old Naruto music, aka when they ninja attacked kakashi and rin after obito died.
Bring old good memories
Holy crap. That puppet does look like Sasori. Badass. :D
