If Tobi is really Madara Uchiha. Wouldn't Tobi be like 100+ years old? I'm confuzzled. Story is getting good

Why would he have to be 100+ years old? Naruto is like 15 which means Kyuubi was sealed 15ish years ago. Itachi is in his mid-20s. Sannin etc are like 60? Madara could be anywhere from 40-100 imo. No one, but Kyuubi as far as I recall has actually mentioned encountering him making his age quite ambiguous unless you're working under the assumption that Madara is the (or one of the) original Uchiha.

Yes, Kakuzu did, but why would that necessarily relate to Madara's age?

Edit: Also, the first and second Hokage were alive when the 3rd became Hokage. They seemed to die fairly young because of the war. The 3rd Hokage died in his 70s and the first and second probably never lived to see 50. So Kakuzu would likely be < 120 yrs old.

I don't recall that being mentioned, but perhaps I'm mistaken... I only recall that Kyuubi (Chp 308-309) says "Impressive, that you've become able to see me here inside Naruto. Such would be the power of that accursed Sharingan... and your forsaken ancestry." then "Eyes with such power and chakra even more sinister than my own. Not at all unlike what I once saw in a certain Uchiha Madara." Sasuke responds "And you expect me to know that person?" which seems odd if he was a founder.

I totally agree, I see people throwing around all these theories about how Madara is the founder of the Uchiha and whatever but isn't the only time he's mentioned by the Kyuubi in Naruto's body with Sasuke there? That's it? So all we know is that he isn't a prevalent Uchiha but he's apparently very strong.

I don't think Tobi is Madara but maybe he is seeking a way to use the beasts to regain his power or something? I don't know. I'd like it if people actually posted why they are coming up with all these theories though because as I read them none of them make any sense past simple guessing, without any evidence.

Maybe it's because I started reading that manga at about 260 (Sasori vs ChiyoKura). Can anyone explain why they are coming up with these theories??

and also we now know why madara wasn't helping deidara against sasuke. can't wait for next week!!

Off the top of my head, I don't think you missed anything relevant to this discussion if you only began reading from there. I don't know where the idea that Madara was the founder or that he lived 100s of years ago comes from... If it's simply theory, one should say so. I can't seem to find any manga evidence to back up the speculation.

Well, he didn't appear in front of Pein till after he "Died". So he probably just disappeared like Sasuke did during the explosion.

Uchiha Madara's power.." he meant the generalization of having the Sharingan and what not. Not actually being a reincarnation of Madara or something. Least that's what I get from it.

I don't think that Tobi is really Madara, I agree with whoever said something about the realization that he has power like Madara. Makes even more sense now to me about the theory that Tobi = Obito, since well... obviously he'd be pretty fucking strong, and strong enough to live through a boulder.

Anyway, I read a while ago another theory about the Uchiha clan that made some good points, and I'll have to find it when I have more time because if only, it's an interesting read. The theory did assume that Madara was the founder of the Uchiha clan though, and made the suggestion that the statue that Sasuke was standing on when he and Naruto fought before the time skip by the waterfall was actually a statue of Madara opposite to a statue of the... First? I believe. Also, I think it was Jiraiya that made reference to something about Naruto and Sasuke and how their rivalry was starting to be similar to "those two" and it turned to a shot of that waterfall with the statues.

I agree with you on everything, I read that theory awhile ago and as the manga goes on it keeps making more and more sense lol. I also agree that tobi is not actually madara, but has power similar to him, also it wouldn't make much sense for madara to cover both of his eyes really, but if tobi was obito it would make perfect sense. If it's not obito, then introducing him in the first place was kind of pointless.

If Tobi=obito, then Kakashi's mangekyou should be the same as Tobi's, but what I'm wondering is if maybe obito can control where the other person will appear while using mangekyou but kakashi can't because kakashi isn't a true uchiha, which they keep bringing up in the manga.

Yeah, but that isn't what i was referring to. What Yamato said is that Sasuke teleported out the area (the fight scene/explored area) to where ever he is resting now. That's why the ninkuns weren't able to trace his scent.
