._. I watched Jiraiya die today. Not cool at all. Why the fuck did I start watching the anime, ugh.

Oh man. "OLE!" fucking killed me.
Yeah I got a few chuckles from that too. That episode really made me wish Madara was like that all the time instead of turning into super-serious cliche villain. Tobidara is much more entertaining.
Roughly how long till Naruto v Pain in the anime do ya think? 20 weeks?
Probably 3 years.
If they end up doing another filler arc, it will most probably end up coming during the time Naruto goes off to Sage train. After that we have the Pein attack and the Kage meetings etc, it would be fairly retarded for Naruto to go all "BRB I have yet another Mary-Sue to save with friendship" during that happening lol
There's also a scant chance they could just power through everything. Making up bullshit missions for the Raikage to send Naruto on after the meeting ends might not be too bad. But then we don't know what the manga will go for next. That and the thought of filler arcs containing Sage Naruto doing dumb shit saddens me.
If you go by the intros, for the most part they've always included some tidbit of filler arcs in them whenever they're planning to go into one. I might just be being optimistic, but it actually looks like they may be planning to go straight to Naruto v. Pain without any filler bullshit.
I probably just jinxed it, but what the hell, I can hope.
I only recently decided to watch the anime because it was Jiraiya v. Pain, and I have to admit I was very surprised to see that Sasuke v. Itachi is apparently coming up very soon already. Figured they'd throw a gap of nonsense between two major fights, but it looks hopeful.
We can only hope that if they need to put in "filler" in the anime they do some "canon" side stories with Kishimoto's help. I know I'd love to see some arcs with a real villain and the rest of the Konoha 11. That was such a wonderful thing about early Naruto, that there was an entire cast. It's the biggest problem with post-time skip barring the Sasuke love.
I do agree with that. I understand the focus of the story is on Naruto and by proxy Sasuke, but the series had a lot more meat when it was a full cast of characters. I like that Kishimoto is starting to work them back into the plot now though.
They might turn his training into a filler arc imo.
I could see that actually working pretty well, as long as it doesn't turn into another arc with a bullshit crystal no jutsu that makes no fucking sense and a boy that controls a tailed beast with insane DBZ style yelling power up sequences.
So I was re-watching the episode where Jiraiya dies. Did anyone else think when he came back to resurface from his barrier, the part where Pa frog throws the shuriken at Pain, he aggro'd and linked a bunch of Pains lol? Then another part that had me chuckle is when he's reminiscing about Minato while he's dying, then regains consciousness to write his code on the frog, did anyone think he reraise'd too early?
Just bored at the moment but I couldn't help but freaking chuckle after I saw it like this.
Ya they went straight from Jiraiya v Pein to Sasuke v Itachi, no breaks. It started this week. Pretty sick imo. I can only hope this pacing keeps up, we are really far ahead of the anime, they shouldn't ever catch up, I don't understand how they possibly could unless they skipped through stuff or didn't stick to one anime episode = one manga chapter.
They do tend to condense a couple chapters into a single episode on occasion. It's hard to stretch chapters like the one from this week (by this week I mean the manga, not the anime) to cover an entire 24ish minute episode.
