Is that really far-fetched? I mean, it came out of nowhere, but he is the grandson of the badass that was the 3rd Hokage. He's got chakra in his genes and had 3+ years to train.

So Naruto learning the technique when he was 12 is fine but Konohamaru learning it when or by the time he was 12 is BS? I think you guys are still a bit grouchy from when the Rasengan was just being used as a finisher for every filler episode in the two year stretch. The thing is a technique, not something that was supposed to be special like SSJ supposedly was in DBZ before everyone with at least 1/100th Saiyan blood has it.

Konohamaru is the same age as when Naruto learnt it. I guess it was just a shock because we hadn't ever seen him do anything useful until then.

I listened to the drama CD that came with the release of kakashi gaiden on DVD in japan. It is another thing set in post-wave arc pre-chuunin exam time. Whole plot revolves around Kakashi trying to get his hands on this hardcore porn novel and team 7 keep interrupting him. I miss old Team 7 and their goofing off and poop jokes

god im loving the anime right now, just as much as the manga. the 1st hokage is ridiculous lol. to fight madara solo with the kyubi is insane. when madara summoned it on 4th. he had to sacrifice himself, but the 1st did it np when madara was at his prime <_>; than again, he is a wood elemental user

I was thinking it would be like the end of DBGT with Pan being an old lady and goku jr and vegeta jr competing at the budokai tenkaichi, except it would be Konohamaru being an old hokage with naruto jr. and sasuke jr. competing at the chuunin exams.

Why are people still hating on Konohamaru?

The scene where he used the rasengan against Pain was meant to be symbolic, as if passing the torch to him. He became the Naruto of his generation where at that very moment, Naruto and the majority of the rookie 9 were stepping up to take over the current one. I think the shock of the whole scene comes more from a lack of Konohamru's character development rather then an actual judgment of his skills. Physically, there was really nothing at the time stopping Konohamru from learning the tecnique considering his lineage and company.
