The anime filler is almost done (like 2-3 more episodes left). The Hotaru girl has a Kinjutsu(forbidden jutsu) called the Fury Technique. It's an ability that gathers NATURAL ENERGY and then triggers a Shinra Tensei(non gravitational) explosion of destruction at the will of the user.

In the anime's filler case though, the Hotaru girl is being controlled by someone from her clan who can't transfer the jutsu to himself because it's imbuned into her back, so he uses some control jutsu over her to control the jutsu.

So yeah, the filller seems to be using "NATURAL ENERGY" in reference to how Naruto/Jiraiya Sage Mode gathers it (at least from what is shown in this episode). Also the whole Student/Master theme is pretty funny considering this is inbetween Sasuke vs Bee and Naruto returning to Leaf Village and finding out Jiraiya got killed by Pain...

You can tell Kishi wrote this filler's script in a way (hell maybe he wrote the other ones too) since it's his 6 tails beast that he created, and the whole natural energy with student-master theme, too bad the villain sucks along with his goons, Naruto's one punch to his face after using Jinchuriki chakra to break his seal jutsu made him use Hotaru's Fury Technique before it was fully charged lol.

Meh it's a lot of talk and about 33% action. They tied a filler with Sora into the main series too way back last year or so. The girl-witch woman who was on the team with Sora's father, who steals people's souls and takes their chakra elemental nature could easily be compared to Kakuzu and his heart-chakra element stealing.

Too much praising Sasuke in this chapter. It takes the fact that Naruto originally saw Sasuke as a person(douche) ad turns it into a form of worship when the thing that made Naruto stand out from the class originally was the fact that he wasn't worshiping Sasuke and judged Sasuke on his behavior or called him out.
Making it happen wholly because of Jealousy/admiration etc does nothing but give Naruto a bunch of shallow character traits instead of actual empathy and the thing that made us actually LIKE naruto the character and frevious flashbacks. It's like taking the whole gaara backstory and instead of his aunt trying to kill him because of her sister's death it was because she stole her princess ponykins robot unicorn.

it basically retconned out a bunch of good things about Naruto.

Eh, how it was explained is exactly how I thought it had been the whole time. Although I'm not sure Naruto's admiration/respect for Sasuke came until after they were on a team together, because that's how it fits best. But it's pretty clear during the whole first arc (up until Naruto vs Sasuke) that Naruto considered him a friend and liked him. And admiring/respecting a friend is fairly normal...isn't it?

Because Naruto is a super smart genius who isn't ever wrong, right? Both statements were made by Naruto, not Kishimoto, which means they're completely open to being incorrect and changing over time.

I was looking moreso at Naruto using Chidori and Sasuke using Rasengan.

That part was fine. I'm thinking you glossed over the line where he said he did everything at the start because of jealousy. Maybe it's my Sasuke hating clouding things?
Eg. It's one thing to try to be like Micheal Jordan because you admire him, its another to take up basketball because you got jealous. Well that and i dont remember him ever thinking Sasuke was cool. it's making naruto sound like a fangirl just as two of Sasuke's fangirls just had a big "fuck you Sasuke" moment. Idk. I guess I'm worried that with noone in story to praise Sasuke constantly Kishimoto is making Naruto the new fangirl.

Or another way of explaining it was that Naruto wanting to be hokage etc was because he wanted to be acknowledged due to the way everyone treated him. He wanted to prove that he was worth something as a human being. While yet he did have respect for sasuke it wasnt anything like the "/kawaiiface Sasuke is sooooo cooool so i wanna be just like him" that we just got hit with.
Which of the two is a better character trait?
