Illusionist villians are needed in these types of "comics". Western comics do the same things: whenever someone crafts an epic tale about people with crazy-ass powers from all over the place, plotholes will come up. They always either have some guy that can just say "nuh uh" with their illusion powers, or they'll just do the American thing and reboot the series every time the plot just gets fucking retarded.

Naruto has Orochimaru and Akatsuki (especially Itachi), and Bleach has Aizen. Any plothole can simply be filled by the classic "Nah bro, that was a bunshin" line, or "Sorry man, you were in a genjutsu" and the reader will be forced to accept it.

Illusions are fine if they are well written in to the story. The illusion should be kept seeming possible and not completely out of nowhere. It's best when it's foreshadowed but not actually seeable until it's revealed later.

With this twist it seems awkward as there is no place to fit it in. The itachi/Aizen thing are a whole different thing though. They aren't used to fill plot holes or strange twists, they are just fillers. They can make a whole chapter pointless. Aizen is obviously the most annoying as he is the main villain and leads the story along with "it was all an illusion", and "that's what I had planned all along" bullshit.

Bee is going to have to get caught/die somewhere along the line, perhaps this it. Emphasis needs to be put on naruto for being the last jinchuuriki alive, and thus the only thing standing in madara's path for his moon eye thing. You know all know it has to happen!

Also, about the whole Sasuke wanting Itachi's eye's, you would think Itachi would have planned for this since he seemingly planned for everything else. Why not the obvious in protecting his own eyes from misuse after his death?

I'll wait to see what happens in the upcoming chapters but I'll stick by what I said earlier, this chapter did nothing but needlessly complicate the plot.

As you said, he admitted that Samehada liked Bee's chakra, but Kisame might have intentionally exaggerated Samehada's affinity for said chakra--giving Bee the impression the sword changed sides, so that Bee would take the sword without suspicion, too confident to check traps Kisame might have hidden (in this case, his own self).

Who says he didn't plan for it?

Five dollars says that sometime after Sasuke takes the eyes OHMYGODITWASGENJUTSUALLALONG and Itachi triggers some latent subrouting to derail his brother's plans and wean Sasuke back over to Naruto's New Jedi Order.

His hope was that after Sasuke took "revenge" on him that he would take his eyes completing his EMS and return to Konoha a hero. His trap for Madara and the crow in Naruto were in case things went in the worse direction, which they have.
