Not sure what you mean but this arc went exactly as everyone predicted it would go as far as the Naruto/Sasuke confrontation.

I wasn't talking about plot, simply character strength. A lot of people posted that they felt naruto outclassed sauske in that department which apparently wasn't the case.

I think that's just Naruto finally coming to terms with the seriousness of the situation, as evidenced by the fact his demeanor changed immediately after he mentioned going to get some ramen and turned away from the group.

He now knows that Sasuke is dead set on destroying the village and everyone that lives there. He also is sure that Sasuke would kill every one of the rookies if they were to try to fight him. That's why he's being so adamant about fighting Sasuke on his own. Just another example of Naruto trying to protect everyone and shouldering all of the responsibility himself.
