It's Sasuke's & Itachi's mom. Calling it. It would explain why Itachi is taking care of a baby in the night.

Listening to Jiraiya earlier on, you get the clear impression that most people think the 9-tails JUST got loose for no real reason. Either that, or they might have known pregnancy weakened the seal. In either case, it would explain the cold or outright aggressive behavior towards Naruto even for people who know he was the 4th's son; Kushina was the host, so in the minds of people outside of the loop, the 9-tails was loose either because she was too weak or she let it escape of her own free will. Meaning her son, also a host, would be just as weak or uncaring about the village's safety.
Anyway, since no one realized it was actually a 3rd party that brought this about, the person could slip back into society if things didn't go to plan.

Now Madara is in a man's body now. You might be wondering how he could be both Sasuke & Itachi's mom and another Uchiha (probably Tobi). Well, how did he get into his current body? I believe he has a mind link to every Uchiha, allowing him to see through their eyes and sometimes take over their body.

This theory hits a brick wall if their mom wasn't a blood Uchiha, but I'm really expecting a reveal by the end of this story.

This is pretty much a fanfic, considering there's nothing in the manga to support this. Everyone thought the 9-Tails was a natural disaster because no one knew Kushina was a jinchuuriki except a very select few who vowed to keep it a secret. They explained this pretty thoroughly last chapter. The "Masked Man" cliffhanger from last week is because the story is currently in a flashback where the ninja world thought Madara was long gone. Also, Itachi taking care of Sasuke at night is probably no more then a fanservice to show a young Itachi.

No need to make mountains out of ant hills with crazy theories.

Minato and Madara are my 2 favorite characters in this series. i couldnt be more happier with the recent chapters. 2 gangster ass shinobis who took plenty of other ninja lives without thinking twice about it are going to clash.

I might be over-analyzing, but to me that seemed like she was comparing it to the dark chakra she saw in Sasuke during his fight with the Raikage.

Also, if you look at Binktopia/Mangastream's translation of that part, she says "It's....Evil! It's exactly like-" Then the Anbu come, interrupting her thought.

It's painfully obvious to everyone Kishimoto made this shit up recently considering nobody in the entire manga ever mentioned the Uzumaki clan when they were supposedly kinda of a big deal.

There are no inconsistencies, everything can be reasoned out and everyone is acting within character: Kushina being the previous host was not relevant to the plot of Naruto becoming a better ninja or trying to find Sasuke. Exploring the subject now is simply creating or revealing background information while at the same time revealing relevant information about the current plot focus, Madara. We know reasonably little about Kushina & Minato, so we can't say their injecting their minds into the seal is out of character and the flashbacks are explaing the cause and reason for it. Nothing stated here contradicts anything explicitly stated earlier in the manga.

It's not a plot hole, it's previously unknown information being revealed.

It's clear Kushina was never intended to be the previous host until Kishimoto decided recently to make it so. Plain and simple. Shounen mangakas do this shit all the time.
