Because he is one. Itachi was the shit tho: claim, cool, laid back, and a total bad ass. Itachi was what sasuke seemed to be at the start of naruto, then he went to little bitch.

Sasuke stopped being cool after the Chunin exams. The pinnacle of Sasuke being epic was the Lion Combo.

After that? It all went downhill with whining and focus being taken away from his taijutsu to sharingan parlor tricks. Maybe it's just me but Sasuke was better off when he actually had to use his head to win fights... not play his hax-eye-no-jutsu and immediately put the enemy on the defensive.

i gotta agree on this. i didnt read the manga when this fight came out, and naruto didnt reach US shores yet. watching every episode up to this point without knowing what was going to happen only built up the suspense way too much, and was too pleasantly surprised. gaara as a villian was pretty cool. shika was my fav back than mixed with him somewhere

Just about any fight where Sasuke get's his ass beat down is fun for me until it reaches the point where Kishi gives Sasuke an ass pull.
It's a little sad how over the top shit that happens in Naruto isn't as plausible as it used to be.
Eg.
Then: Zabuza cannot use his arms so he gets a Kunai in his mouth and owns the shit out of everyone. Haku can do seals one handed(which noone else seems to be able to replicate all the way to every single kage apparently. I guess kishi forgot that plot point)
Now: I have a sharringan arm with a built in sharringan tank which makes me invincible!

My second favorite fight was Choji vs. Jirobo animated during the Sasuke Retrieval arc. You're bullshitting if you say you didn't tear up a little at the end when he saw the tree marks from Naruto and friends to catch up with him.
