Actually if you look closer it was more of a "dog and his master" type moment between Bee and Samehada. Suddenly a hand out of no where (Kisame) grabbed the hilt of Samehada and forced it to drain Bee's chakra.

I can totally see Samehada becoming Bee's sword even after Kisame meets his end finally.

Samehada wasn't chomping on his arm prior to that, and Bee totally wasn't on the ground due to his chakra being drained before Kisame grabbed the hilt or anything. :3

Well, they could do various character side-stories that'd all take place at once. Emphasis probably being rebuilding Konoha or defending it from random miscreants.

I don't think anyone knows how long filler will last but it generally airs as seasonal blocks, e.g., 13, 26, 39, or 52 episodes

finally they bring opening the gates back into the techniques.. i always wondered why in so many life or death fights that many top tier shinobi dont know how to open the gates

I kind of always saw it as a "Why use a potentially life-threatening kaoken when I'm a super saiyan!" type deal.

Well, he said that about Lee after he opened the 4th gate vs Gaara. "It takes more than hard work to do that, maybe he is a genius after all."

So maybe some people can open the first couple gates but it seems to be rare to go past that. Gai can probably open the 8th gate as well but it's lethal.

Pretty sure gate opening itself is a hardcore taijutsu move. So only people who specialize in taijutsu would really care for it, they'd rather focus on things like chakra control/growth and nin/genjutsu development. And taijutsu specialists are very rare in Naruto.
