In my opinion Lee vs. Gaara had the best animation. Haven't been following Naruto anime since Shippuden, are there any other fights that have similar animation?

I actually really enjoyed Kakashi vs Hidan/Kakuzu. Animation was actually fluid and Kakashi was a bad ass.

Pretty sure gate opening itself is a hardcore taijutsu move. So only people who specialize in taijutsu would really care for it, they'd rather focus on things like chakra control/growth and nin/genjutsu development. And taijutsu specialists are very rare in Naruto.

also I think from the original description, you essentially use up your total chakra faster, and only a taijutsu specialist wouldn't need that chakra for other jutsu

another way to explain it, is that it allows a taijutsu user to use the chakra that other shinobi would use for ninjutsu/bushins etc

I kind of always saw it as a "Why use a potentially life-threatening kaoken when I'm a super saiyan!" type deal.

yeah but they also said opening the gates would let u even surpass the Kages... if you are going to die against an enemy already why not open the gates...

but yall do make a point that not everyone knows how to open the gates.. but atleast top tier ninjas should know right? >_>

My point was he needed the chakra to do other jutsu, it's still a zero sum game even if he knows how to use it. My understanding was that it really only increases muscle movement speed/power and the 3rd was not really taijutsu focused anyways.

Ya it's probably the same reason why it was such a gamble to make kage bunshins during that fight. There's a good chance either Gai and Lee are chakra monsters or possibly the other thing is it could even disable certain jutsu as you opened more. The only jutsu we saw during it was the summon and that was in the lower end.

Heard from fans on another board that the reason the animation for the beginning of the Pain fight was so bad was because they took all of the good animators off of the show in order to do the latest movie... which apparently ended up being really shitty anyway. Way to manage things, Japan.

Idk, I marathoned it yesterday from Naruto entry to Kyubi-Sage Mode; since i download 720p versions, and I think it's and alright arc. The fight between Pain and 4-6-8 Tails is definitly meant for Disney XD lol, kids will definitly enjoy it , a WHOLE episode full of action .

In the last chapter we saw Gai's new technique: 昼虎 - Hirutora (Afternoon Tiger)
And based in your previous technique: 朝孔雀 - Asakujaku (Morning Peacock) and your Kuchiyose (Turtle/Tortoise).
On this, we can conclude that the Gai's techniques are based on 4 Chinese Guardians.

Red Bird (Phoenix) = South, Summer, Red, Fire
Tortoise (Black Warrior) = North, Winter, Black, Water
White Tiger (Kirin) = West, Fall, White, Metal
Dragon = East, Spring, Blue/Green, Wood

Gai will follow this sequence in your techs: morning ( 6am - 12pm), afternoon (12pm - 18pm)), evening (18pm - 0am) and night (0am - 6am).

Gai therefore tends to use four special moves. He has used a Bird and a Tiger, symbolizing the morning and afternoon, and are also compatible with the right ordering of stations represented by the 4 chinese guardians, until then summer and fall. If he continues at this pace, Gai very likely to use the other two techniques, representing the evening and night, winter and spring, Tortoise and Dragon respectively.

But maybe, the summonned tortoise already represents the evening. Then we can guess that each open gate will be related with one of these techniques.

I may be wrong on this, but I think Chinese mythology might be just a tad bit older then FF11.
