    Edit: And yeah, biting off one's tongue via suicide is another one of those "Japanisms"; shit that seems unlikely to most, but apparently is common in Japan lore. Remember that in the Zabuza arc, Inori's(sp) mom said she'd do the same thing if those two ronin bandits tried to mess with her kid.
