Pain seems like a typical villain with a Messianic complex, so it's pretty cliche and to be honest I was hoping for something a bit more uhh... different from the manga, but ah well. As long as it remains decently entertaining, I'll be happy, and the next few chapters are surely going to be incredible.

random thought about pein

all the bodies. the weird marks on the faces of all of them... maybe his eyes allow for migration of his spirit between the bodies he has prepared (the ones with the marks, the marks allowing his spirit to enter the body with ease [IE: they are the chakra points]) unlike orochimaru's somewhat similar ability. but his eyes allow him use of any body he set's up previously, sorta like kazuku's ability but again different.

I like Pain. He doesn't really sound emo to me in the same way the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann isn't emo. I like his plan too. He wants to create a global Cold War.

I think the aspect of the cold war BRP was referring to was the fact that both nations (USSR and the USA) had access to WMDs and shit so they were both just saying, "oh don't fire at us because if you do we'll totally fire back."

Pain is suggesting something very similar, although the way it's been referred to throughout the manga and even in his little speech, he intends to actually simply give the weapons to the highest bidder and have the other side simply eradicated or brought to the brink of destruction to bring about a near-instant end to any conflict that would have been taking place.

Maybe he's a descendant of the first ninja, who had the eyes in the first place and fighting for his life caused the eyes to go from being recessive to dominant?
